- Tip: If you're somewhat technically inclined/good at following instructions, it's recommended to consider using CrossMix [github.com] custom firmware on this handheld over the default stock firmware it ships with.
- CrossMix improves performance in some titles/emulators that can otherwise struggle on the stock firmware. CrossMix also features other added perks, such as emulation cores that add pseudo 16:9 widescreen support to some (natively 4:3) systems like Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, PlayStation, and SEGA Genesis. Instead of showing black bars on each side of the 4:3 content from those systems, the 16:9 hack fills that unused space with additional, matching background scenery; giving the impression that the game is being rendered in 'native' 16:9 (without simply taking the 4:3 image and stretching the picture horizontally, warping the graphics). The effect can be hit or miss depending on the game, but looks great when it's working properly. To enable the 16:9 widescreen hack on any of those listed systems, highlight a game from one of those consoles, click the Y button and select the core labeled '16:9' (N64, PS1 & Dreamcast have this option) or 'Wide' (Genesis has this option).

I decided to forego it and just go with Retrobat on my Windows machine, then transfer that to my phone.
Signed up for MCON on Kickstarter. Hoping I'll be happy with the choice to have my phone as the dedicated device instead of another device.
Already have a Anbernic RGXX35 sp for light gaming.
