Not exactly the same deal.

This includes HP batteries, the other one linked includes stardard batteries.

The hackable one is also HP batteries. The model number of the kit is PSK108SB which is the same as the first part of the conjunctive model number of this deal (PSK108SB-P262). Also the title of the hackable kit literally says high performance capitalized in its title: "ONE+ 18V Lithium-Ion HIGH PERFORMANCE Starter Kit with 2.0 Ah Battery, (2) 4.0 Ah Batteries, and Charger".

I've heard of a hack but I've never done it so not sure how it works. So if I have the batteries already but I need the wrench, do I just order the combo online and return the batteries in store? I see in cart that the price for the impact went down to $94 from $179. Or maybe it's worth keeping these batteries as they are high performance?

This is the brushless model that uses the HP batteries. If you don't have any HP batteries or could use more, this is the price to get them.
Otherwise, you can set a different pickup location to two for each item and then pickup the wrench and cancel the batteries to complete the "hack".

When you get the separate sku deal (ie hackable), the batteries are 104.76 and the impact is 94.24. Good prices if you need either individually.

Regarding battery kit though, I've moved to mostly 6ah HP batteries since they are same size as 4ah.

I did this steal a couple years ago and I've been very happy with the set up. Primarily for swapping out wheels, but all around pretty useful.

If Home Depot was concerned about this hack, they would fix it.
They're still making profit either way.

iirc, I paid like $60-ish for the p262 a couple years ago, so $95 now for this older model tool is gravy for them.
