Begs the question: Did you look to see if there is an offset setting?

Calibrating the thermostat (Temperature Offset):

Some Honeywell digital thermostats, including some models in the 6000 series (like the RTH6360D), may offer a way to adjust the displayed temperature by a small offset if the measured temperature is inaccurate due to its location.

To calibrate:

Find a reliable thermometer and compare its reading to the thermostat's displayed temperature.
Access the menu, go to "Preferences" or "Advanced Preferences".
Look for an option like "Indoor display offsets".
Adjust the displayed temperature to match the thermometer's reading using the arrow buttons, then press "Done".

I have this.
I find the thermostat to be inaccurate.
It reads a couple of degrees lower than actual.

So if I set heat to 72f, it'll sense 70f and won't actually shut off till actual temp is 74f.

So I set it to 70f so it'll shut off when actual temp is 72f.

I'm using a meat thermometer to compare temps.
My old thermostat was consistent with it but it stopped working

Can you set a minimum cycle time on these thermostats?

As in, can I set it so that when it turns on it runs for at least 20 minutes before shutting off? I hate thermostats that constantly cycle on/off every 3-5 mins when the temperature drops .2 degrees.

No WiFi.
Been using a couple of Honeywell thermostats since last 13 years and they have WiFi.
It's the second most useful feature in a thermostat imho after the capability to program them.
If you can spend a bit more and get one with WiFi. The app works very reliably.

Try Sensi thermostats. Particularly if you dont have C-wire. I switched to this one (ST55 i think) from a basic Nest, which was behaving oddly for my system, and it just works. App is great and use thru google home too.

Also, check this older thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/18239842-select-utility-companies-active-accounts-google-nest-thermostat-from-free-more-shipping-varies?src=SiteSearch

Even though it says Nest, click the link for your local utility and you might find a coupon for discounted smart thermostats. HTH!

Check with your energy supplier for discounts on better models. For example, PSE&G customers can get smart thermostats for huge discounts, some even free. https://marketplace.pseg.com/shop...ermostats/

Buy the cheap one for rentals. For your own place, get a Wifi one. You can remotely control the temperature prior to coming back to home, or in the middle of the night and you wanna adjust the temperature, but do NOT get outta bed. Adjust it from your bed via your phone! Sensi does NOT require the C wire.
