Bought this game at release at full price and don't regret it at all. I was planning to wait for it to go on sale, but changed my mind after watching some gameplay. I've wanted an AC game with Japan as the setting for the longest time, and love this game. I have 120+ hours in it and still haven't bothered to finish the campaign. The dual protagonists is a bit gimmicky, but it works good enough. Each character has very different play-styles and gear.
If you are a fan of Assassin's Creed games, it's definitely one of the better ones. I suggest playing with Japanese dialogue and subtitles since the Japanese voice acting is way better than the English. There's also an Immersion Mode for a more cinematic experience (which I use).
Sure the price will drop lower, so decide on your own how much the game is worth.
If you have Game Pass and don't mind waiting 2-3 years, it'll probably be there at some point.
