Try calling in instead of trying to do it online. The online system didn't give me the $500 off but calling into the Costco T-Mobile line, I was eligible.
I am a little wary of doing this via phone when the online option does not show the $500 off
for my SC plan. T-mobile CS is known to screw things up when it is not self-service/online and
we can't take screenshots as proof.

I get your concern. At the same time, I don't know any company that is 100% mistake free. You stick around SD long enough and you'll see every deal has a few people bring up one screw-up or another. I feel lucky that in my 12+ years with T-Mobile, I've only missed out on deals, and not screwed over. There's always a negativity bias with customer reviews, because pissed off customer will do everything they can to spread their displeasure, and most satisfied (or even just neutral) customers don't say anything.

Same. T-Mobile has been absolutely garbage for anything but the magenta plans in terms of phone upgrades anymore. I'm on the essentials and absolutely nothing

I've done these type of deals before and unless they changed it I paid it off after the first month and unlocked it and still received the credits for the full two year's.

Got this from google search. T-Mobile is going back to be like other carriers after merger with sprint, totally not uncarrier anymore.

T-Mobile has changed its policy regarding bill credits for device promotions. If you pay off your Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) early, you will forfeit any remaining promotional bill credits. This change applies to new device promotion enrollments starting July 1, 2024. Previously, customers could pay off their devices early and still receive the credits, but this is no longer the case.

Their policy has changed as bill credits now stop if the device is paid off early. The change happened about a year ago: info [tmo.report].

Because they banned the good phones from the US market. This is worth $100 outside the US.

If you just want this phone, the Total Wireless deal is much better.

i absolutely have the same feeling... i mean, most flip phones in china now a days are 1/2 the thickness of our flip phones here in the states and cost much less... this is old tech and still being sold at $500...

I am contemplating on upgrading from s23 Fe though... the battery on that thing is atrocious that it goes from 10% to 0% in 5 min ...

But then, you have to deal with Total Wireless. Based on my experience and compared to what others are saying about T Mobile, my impression is that they are about the same.

We recently quit TMO. We got our final bill, which reflected a credit on the canceled account. They charged the full amount (with autopay), then pro-rated the amount due, and gave themselves an interest-free loan for the difference. They took their time about mailing (snail mail) the final bill, never sending a text, an email- just a letter. I called them, and surprisingly quickly talked to someone who said they'd refund back to the payment account. It's too soon to tell if that was actually initiated.

If you're switching to T-Mobile- you are not upgrading. We escaped them because of rip-off behavior and the fact that their experts are nearly always wrong. Not sure if most of their experts are poorly trained, poorly informed, or just scammers out to make commission.
Well unfortunately they are the only one with free international text and mobile data at a decent price. But if you don't do international, not too much incentive to stay

Only getting $50 credit on all Moto Razr trade-ins for some reason. Getting the full $500 on all the other devices like the Samsung Flips; is it cause I'm on a Magenta plan? Trying to trade in an old S21 FE.

Update: seems like Magenta plans don't qualify. Bummer!
