Try a flapper disc instead. It'll take off less material, much easier to sharpen with

This is wild, was just looking at my toolbox for one of these at a 60 grit rating (this is) and up pops a great deal on a new disc. I'll buy that for a dollar and change!

Excellent price for these. I just paid more than double for one of these because of an immediate need.

Be aware these abrasive discs have some sort of shelf life. I have generally not had an issue with it, but did have a few fly apart that were on my dad's shelf for 10-15 years.

I have a pretty low expectation out of these as DeWalt discs have been pretty poor performers for me. Right there with Ryobi and Harbor Freight. Lately I've been getting the discs from Benchmark Abrasives [benchmarkabrasives.com], which have been pretty good. They got me hooked with their 10 "free" flap disc [benchmarkabrasives.com] promo a few years ago. Probably not the absolute best, but the price point is right for abrasives that perform well.

For sharpening a lawnmower blade, a 120 grit flapdisc would be a decent way to go.

I just picked up a 60 grit flap disc for doing just that. It seems to be the way to go.
