I have the Costco 65" Panny W95 $500 deal...... that I received a few weeks ago, and the TV is GREAT
But to be honest.... I would really like a 55" one as it will fit better in my TV location.

Take the Batteries out of the remote...... and see if it still does it.
I realize moctezumax most likely had the OEM Panny TV remote.
I purchased a "FireTV" remote for my W95..... and when the TV was off, in 7-minutes the remote would send a ghost ON signal. The Tv would Turn on by itself. Tried reprogramming the new FireTV remote and it kept doing the same. Everything else worked with the new remote.
The OEM Panasonic works perfect.
The other thing is I have a Tivo, hooked up to a Yamaha A/V receiver.... and sometimes when I would turn the TV on or off I had strange things happen with the HDMI "handshake" I looked in the Tivo menu to see its remote battery, and it was only 36%..... Changed the batteries in the Tivo remote, and so far haven't had any problems.

I don't hear the word "Panasonic" more than about 3 times per year.
Long story:
I did a part-time job repairing panasonic TV's around 2010 for 6-months, the TV mainboards and power supplies were all junk. I stopped doing the job because I was tired of getting yelled at by customers on their 2nd and 3rd repair. It wasn't paying well enough to be worth the stress, but it was easy work , those old LCD's were huge and popped open pretty easily, after removing about 16 screws
I hope the quality of these newer TV's are better.

The specs here look good otherwise.
Long story:
my Sony TV's built-in google TV got really crappy within 18-24 months. I used google TV streamers for awhile and liked them a lot, but their remotes are too slippery, I've been using ROKU streamers for a couple years because they have the best remotes for my hands.
Longer story:
I actually reconnected my big sony to wifi a few months ago to play with the google TV and made sure it was up-to-date, but it had horrible lag ( I even did a factory reset to give it a full test )
