Both of these are split MDF panels length-wise. It's definitely a "budget" desk, but for under $50 shipped it seems like a great price with generally good reviews overall.

I replaced the top of one of these with a 6' piece of mahogany wood with 30"+ depth. I have 5 monitors sitting on it, nearing the max weight capacity and the motor has slowed down a little bit but I don't mind for how much space I have.

yeah, just make sure you're cautious of the weight as a solid piece of wood is HEAVY.

If I didn't already have a nice standing desk and needed a cheap one just to get up and going, this would be my stop. I was already considering grabbing one of these at around $~100 but this seems like a no brainer for less than $60.
