Unless Amazon has already patched it, you can always jailbreak it and install koreader. I'm using it right now on my Paperwhite. It's a muuuch better reading experience.

It's an option for the non bundle if you deselect the 3 months of Kindle

I just wanted to add that you can get discount on certain bundles. I got the 32GB scribe with plant based leather folio and power adapter for $163.51

I used the GETKINDLE15 first then added my trade. I have an old non working kindle keyboard so they gave me $5 for it and the 20% off discount.

Link? Is it $314 before tradein? I have tradein applied prior and code doesn't work

it's gotten to the point for me now when reading on a 10in screen is just way too small. the other day i looked at one of my old text books and the text looks tiny. i couldn't even believe i didnt even notice it before. i need it on a 23in screen and i make the text like 24 font.

From all the reviews I've read on it, it's very basic functionality and awkward AF to sync. Bottom of the list for e-reader note taking and annotations. Personally I'm going to be using this for reading first and foremost and notetaking only very occasionally, which is what it is best for. All the 10 inch plus alternatives (Boox, Remarkable) don't go on deep discounts nearly as often so will cost x2 to x4 the cost of this sale. From everything I've read if you're a notetaker and insist on e-ink, than you can start @ the Boox Air at 400 USD that is the same weight and size and go into the highest end of the color Remarkable Pro at @ 750 USD+.
Buy a Samsung A series tablet (if you want to do onenote) or an ipad (the < $300 one). Get a pen and profit. I have a m3 ipad air w/ pen and now I actually do not only my note taking, kindle, reader, etc but all of my productivity now and even my photo and video editing (esp w/ stage manager). I rarely fire up my MBP anymore. W/ the upcoming ipados in Sept its going to get much better. I also have a Samsung S9+ and that thing is amazing at note taking.
Unless you need the e-ink, and locked into Amazon I would look elsewhere. Before Amazon pulled the rug I downloaded all my kindle books a few months ago and will NEVER buy another e-book from Amazon. I just get them from the library or the high seas now and I have found I actually enjoy the real thing! The last 10 books have all been print, I don't know why I stopped.

I've got a Samsung S9 Ultra which I use on the daily (though much more often as another screen for my computer).

But I'm getting old / my eyes farkin' hurt these days. Proper e-ink displays are much better for my eyes and I'm trying to sprinkle them in as often as I can these days to draw out the inevitable damage I'm doing on blasting IPS/OLED light into them 24/7.

People that say these things have never even looked at a paperwhite. You realize you were in constant pain reading before. Have fun with your 15-min youtube eye exercise routines
the ipad screen is called the retina because it is burning a hole in your retina.
I'm still holding off for a Remarkable 2 deal, but my 2nd gen paperwhite has always been glorious

You are not doing any excess damage reading via e-ink vs OLED, you need to do eye exercises and defocus routines every 15 min or so. That is what is putting eye strain, so go look up on YT eye exercises. However if you prefer e-ink that is a personal decision but you are not unduly injuring your eyes using an S9U, in fact that is a top notch display and if you are sensitive to PWM that display I believe can go down to 1Hz refresh (essentially static).

Says you; 48 years of slinging screens all day tells me otherwise as does my optometrist. E ink displays are easier on my eyes - you're passing off opinion as science when in reality it's different for every individual and having done TN screens, VA screens, IPS, WRGB OLED, AMOLED, e -ink, kolied color e-ink, etc. I know what causes eye strain for my particular peepers and what doesn't.

Front-lit e-ink emits waaay less blue light than LCD/OLED. If you're like me and reading at night in bed, the difference is massive. I wouldn't discard the differences so casually.

I have a Scribe. It's a pretty nice piece of equipment, but in some ways, it's almost a little too big if you're trying to hold it up in bed or similar, because the single-side bezel makes it annoying to hold with both hands. I dearly wish it had bezels on both sides and actual physical buttons like the Oasis. (Frankly, I'd probably buy an Oasis over the Scribe if they came out with a new version that had USB-C.)
Colorsoft is pretty good, but they put the stupid power button on the bottom, and give you no way to rotate the screen.

I was able to use the GETKINDLE15 first, then the trade-in with a 12 year old Kindle for the 32GB leather case combo. My total was $215.27 after tax, couldn't get it as low as other's have posted but pretty happy with that price.

I added the combo to the cart, put in the coupon code, opened another tab, went to the combo page and submitted the trade-in info, went to my cart on the new tab and the price was dropped down to $215.

I had been eyeing this for a while, I have an iPad Pro and have used it for notetaking and it just doesn't work well for me. The surface is too smooth, the screen doesn't have that paper look and the no bezel always led to inadvertent taps. Here's hoping it works out. Thank you all for the info!

Looks like Code GETKINDLE15 can be combined with Tradein for extra 15% off
Thank you, I was able to bring my total down to $198. Will be my first ever kindle purchased on this account, so maybe it had to do with that? I bought the 64gb (DEVICE ONLY) option

OLED doesn't emit significant blue light they are emissive. You are listening to the fluff. Any new device that is LCD uses white backlight (not like the old ones), and if you are concerned they ALL have blue reducing modes. If you are using e-ink in the dark guess what it is using the same while LED that the ipad is to provide backlight as they are not emissive.

Again I said that you can certainly use e-ink if you prefer it, but scientifically it is in your head. You are reading too much ChatGPT.

I even had my optometrist to relent after a 15 minute discussion because the entire optical industry relies upon billions of wasted money on blue light coating on glasses which do nothing but make you feel better and separate you from your money.

But like many things in life if it makes YOU feel better, than by all means it is your choice and money.

Think you're confusing this package deal (scribe plus cover and charger) with the scribe only offer.
Actually - I was mistakenly thinking that the 16GB essentials bundle was $284 (and dropped to $269) - but OP chose to base the title on the 32GB model for some reason, which was/is $284

Brain fart!
