Would suggest a screen protector either way. They're cheap and work well.

The 51mm Sapphire is on sale for $599. For $50 more I would highly recommend the piece of mind.
I'm in the same boat you are though with my Fenix 6 just needing to be recharged more frequently… nothing else wrong with it.

Totally agree, sapphire is the way to go. I've had a 3HR, a 5X Plus, and now a 7X. All had sapphire screens. While the bezels would get a little scratched up due to all the nonsense I got up to, the screens always looked pristine.
