You need to open a new line with Verizon which you can cancel once the phone ships/picked up. Activation fee is waived if cancelled within 3 days and you end up paying prorated charges for couple of days of service.

Note if you get it through FI this will still be less and factory unlocked.

Factory unlocked doesn't mean network unlocked.

I meant network unlocked. This is the same unlocked phone that you would buy from BB/Amazon paying $100 more if you choose not to active with carrier.

OP are you certain that if you cancel within 3 days Verizon doesn't charge any early termination fee (or blacklist your device)? I saw same offer with unlocked icy blue version for $499 last night but didn't wanna risk it. I assume BB gets commission for these sign ups, if we cancel how does VZ make a profit?
