Same here ... Survived without a gumball. I bought a few off Amazon that were very well reviewed for a vacation trip I was planning to take. But putting the phone in the gimball was so painful for general recording that I never used any and returned all of them.
I just wanted to have something to hold the phone better and these help with that but not worth the trouble unless you are recording games, etc the you know that you are going to record for a long time.
It's the convenience. Similar with selfie sticks. I bought one and it has been since collecting dust. It's much easier to just pull out the phone and snap the photo on the moment.
This or the Insta360 Flow 2 Pro which is around $136 with the $23 coupon on Amazon now.
There are a few reviews on youtube comparing these two gimmbals. In most features the insta360 comes out ahead of the osmo. If the price difference is less than 10 bucks I would go with the Insta.

Yes, I really like the Insta360 Flow 2 Pro but seems if you go to Disney parks, you can't bring it in since it extends. So I may need to get the lower tier Osmo 7 which does not extend.
