5900xt (16 core) is not the same as a 5900x (12 core). The fury of deals in the past couple weeks bottomed out at $230 or the better deal $260 with 32gb ram.
This seems to be better than those. Except the ram deal. Yet 32gb ddr4 is worth about $50 so basically equal.

IMO it's time to start saving up for moving up to AM5 or the Intel equivalent if you'd rather go Intel.

Currently rocking a 5600X. Through the barrage of CPU deals that have come through SD lately, the consensus is that I should save my money and grab a X3D CPU if my rig is primarily used for gaming. Does anyone own this CPU that could chime in?

X3Ds are hard to find nowadays. Microcenter used to carry them and they've been sold out for a while now, at least for AM4 boards.

32gb ddr4 will be hard to get since manufacturers stop producing them

Yes but when I doubt it will come back to old rates. The reason mfg wants to make it again is to make money

The best *shipped* deals before this one were $230 for the CPU alone or $263 bundled with 32GB DDR4 RAM. If you have a MicroCenter nearby, you could've gotten the CPU for $210 in store.

What is the deal lately with ITX AMD boards? pretty limited selection, and several of the "good" ones have poor customer ratings. I'm in the same boat. I need to do a new ITX build (have case already) and am almost tempted to go Intel because of mobo's

IMO this CPU is only worth it if you have an AM4 system and don't want to build a completely new one, but you do video editing/rendering or programming where large projects need to be compiled, or other tasks that scale well with core parallelization. For gaming, consider the 5700X3D, invest in a GPU, or keep using what you have, wait and upgrade to AM5.
