This seller drops price around 5% every two weeks if his inventory is high
No, he doesn't.
The last time this was on sale was more than a month ago.
Plus, the price drop is only when there are less than 10 or 5 items available. Almost every seller does that. Opposite to what you've said.

Own one from a previous deal. Construction quality's okay overall. Not good, not terrible; doesn't beat a Thinkpad. Cheap-ish feeling metal casing. It's very slim though. Refurb condition was pristine.
Biggest complaint is the mousepad: it's fairly large, mechanical, and not well-built so when it sits on your lap it gets "stuck" sometimes.
Battery life has been good, the screen is very good for the price, processor is excellent, and in general I'd say you're unlikely to find a better 14-inch laptop sub $1000 now. Closest thing I can think of is the P14s Gen 5 with the 8840HS, same screen, and 64 RAM that's been sitting at $1100 or so on their beneplace offers page. If you're willing to live with Asus's history as a company, this is a good buy.

I was going to say, I figured this would probably compare to a P14s

probably a dumb question but: any way to access the P14s Gen 5 beneplace deal mentioned without access to beneplace through your employer?
