Several decades of research has shown that phthalates cause many health issues, including cancer. The latest study linked it to heart disease. It concluded that up to 13% of cases can be traced back to phthalates. Their statistical modeling is questionable but most experts agree that avoiding phthalates is wise.

Phthalates is commonly used as a fixative for fragrances because it makes the scents last longer. Virtually all air freshener have them. Many laundry detergent also have them. Since Gain's main claim to fame is its lasting scent, there's cause for concern. Well, good news for you Gain fans: I contacted them and they claim that there are no phthalates in Gain. This is backed up by Consumer Reports' own testing.

As an intelligent consumer and mother, I care. I also appreciate the information users share with others. What I don't care for or appreciate is your pointless post. If you're not interested in a post, just ignore it. Are you really at pathetically needy for attention that you need to tell us if you care about something? Sad.

That's good to know because I love the smell. I wonder if that's true of all the Gain scents, softener, pods, etc.

You might want to look up the meaning of "no one" since the concept escapes you. Are you really arrogant enough to think that you speak for all of humanity? Don't project your inability to learn new things onto orders. 🤔
