Instabuy! Finally the deal on the TV I've been drooling over. I've lusted after this since I first saw it in Best Buy! Been holding out hoping to see a sale like this. Price even better than I was hoping for. Done and done! TY OP - repped! I also added the My Best Buy plus membership for $60 just so I could return it within 60 days if a better deal comes along (I doubt it will - but at $2k, why not spend another $60 just to make sure). Plus the 2 year interest free financing on BB card. My 98" Micro LED Dream is becoming a reality!

Here's a good review of this amazing TV.

Unfortunately rtings updates their rating methodology regularly, making comparisons of older TVs to modern ones worthless (unless they've retested the old TV with the newer methodology). Just seeing a higher score on an older TV doesn't mean that it's better.

I had a different one ordered but cancelled because I was concerned about the width, don't mind a slim mount.. all cables will be attached and run in-wall before mounting.

This one looked good enough to me. It's 32" wide so it can easily hit 2 studs, no matter where on the wall you put it.

Nice. I went with

Essentially the same. Decided on fixed bc don't want the TV sagging forward with the top weight given the location of mounts.

edit: should fit the 600x500 vesa specs as previously mentioned on this

Gosh, I just ordered a 83" oled but would highly consider this. Unfortunately I tossed the box so not sure if a return is even doable from Best Buy. Unmounting and Lugging it back for a return would a lot of work

Looking to purchase this via Amazon. It says in the warranty is only good for 1 year when I ask in the question/search bar. This is is a bit concerning to me. Anyone know if this is true, and how to go about getting an extended warranty through amazon? I didn't see it in the check out area or anywhere else.

Is the seller Amazon or is it Walt's TV? Personally I went with Best Buy for better customer service and the free installation and mounting. Best Buy will come out and remove the TV and remount it free if you aren't happy. And you can get the geek squad warranty

Is this a big upgrade from the QM7? I have 98" QM7 I can return still. I paid $1600 open box for that so this would be about $400 more

I think the same TV is available on Amazon with some extras and a 5% off coupon here: https://www.amazon.com/TCL-98-Inc...r=8-4&th=1 Exclusive Bonus Bundle – Includes UAX 4K HDMI 2.0 Cable, CPS 24-Month Protection Plan for extended coverage, and a Streaming Bundle with Brain.fm (focus music), Daily Burn (fitness), and Galaxy TV (entertainment).

Great price for the TV. Hisense switched to Pentonic 800 in 2025 line-up so provides 4xHDMI 2.1 ports and 165Hz while TCL still using Pentonic 700 with 2xHDMI 2.1 ports and 144Hz. Real-life image processing and upscaling quality needs to be reviewed. Comparable 100U75QG (more dimming zones as 2400 vs 3000) is 2500 USD so TCL has price advantage.

QM751G (2024) has 1500 dimming zones along with 2400nits while QM7K(2025) has 2800 dimming zones along with 3000nits. The upgrade is there. It may be a hassle to dismount, re-pack and return a 98 inch TV but I would prefer 2025 model with this price difference. Also open box vs brand new.

here is little concern for me. 98QM7k EARC is only HDMI 2.0, I just bought a samsung sound bar (990d) and it has EARC HDMI 2.1, so I won't be getting any of the 2.1 full benefits for audio setup.
I was planning on plug in my Apple TV and PS5 directly to sound bar, but if I get this tv with earc 2.0 I have to plug everything directly to TVs 2.1 hdmi ports which is fine for picture but still doesnt solve the issue of the audio since tvs earc is 2.0.
hope I explained it correctly but any suggestion appreciated. thanks.

Why would TCL make a tv with 2 HDMI 2.1 port but kept the earc one only at hdmi 2.0?
cost cutting? but how much cost cutting this would be anyway since they already had HDMI 2.1 on port 1 and 2.
HDMI eARC 2.1 offers significant improvements over HDMI eARC 2.0, primarily in bandwidth and audio capabilities. HDMI 2.1 eARC supports higher-quality, lossless audio formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X with greater channel capacity than HDMI 2.0 eARC. While both support eARC, the 2.1 version leverages the increased bandwidth for a more robust and immersive audio experience

Some HDMI 2.0 chipsets include the full EARC audio specs. I would be surprised if this one did not. That being said, I personally don't see a reason to connect Apple TV to HDMI 2.1 as it is only 60fps not 120

I was just future proofing a bit, as the new Apple TV coming up in September which will support 120 fps and full audio passthrough.
