With these being only released like a month out, I don't see how you couldn't get a brand new looking one from the get go.
But FFS Sony, you couldn't add 5-10mm to those earcups. Unless people comment on how flat your ears are against your head on the daily, I would definitely buy an aftermarket set (I assume those exist) at the same time I got these headphones.
I was also hoping Sony would adopt the High-Res audio over USBC that is becoming more common, but they didn't.
When I tried both the XM6 and AirPods Max in-store, I noticed the XM6 ear cups felt shallower—my ears were touching the drivers. It wasn't a huge issue during a short demo, but I'm concerned it could become uncomfortable over time.
If you own the XM6, can you share your experience with long-term comfort?
I know the XM6 gets great reviews overall, but if I can't wear them comfortably for extended periods—especially while traveling—they won't work for me. My other option is the AirPods Max, mainly for their seamless integration with Apple devices, which I already use.

I have an old Bose QC35 (the original not the II's) that doesn't have all of those extras but I thought the noise cancellation was just as good and they're more comfortable than the XM4's - but the XM6's are 5 years newer, so I assume they are better.
Good idea on eBay - I'd love to buy one from secondpity off of eBay, is there a coupon that takes it down to $304 on eBay? It seemed like this price was only good for their website right now. Maybe its better to wait - or maybe I should go with the Bose official refurbished QC Ultras for $263.

Same happened with the XM5s when they first dropped. Distinctly recall refurbs for about $185 which made me understandably nervous. Turned out to be the lowest they ever got
They functioned well though and appeared in good condition. But the smell is ridiculous bad, my whole apartment smells like a smokeroom now.
So far my success rate with this seller is about 20%. Awful experience. Return they go.
