Wound up canceling and rebooking over half the trips … saved about 2500 points … plus was able to get better itinerary.
Only runaround was that I could not "change" the original flights … I had to cancel and rebook because they were "basic" flights.
It should be noted though… The strategy of "cancel and rebook" really only works with flights booked with points… Because refunded points have no expiration date … if I would've paid cash for these trips and then done a "cancel and rebook" …. I would have refunded cash sitting in my account … cash with a looming expiration date. Not ideal.
