Showing $199 for the bundle (with 4ah battery + charger).
The $179 price is for the tool only.
Previous deals around the holidays showing this could be had for $125. So not a "slick deal" per-se compared to what it has been.

Thanks for clarifying: $179 for the tool, $199 for the bundle. I revised the original post accordingly.

I was able to get it for this price last Christmas. If you're able to hold out.

I prefer the ryobi edger oneHP here: https://www.homedepot.com/pep/RYO.../324764218

It's much easier to navigate than this one and plenty powerful while still lasting 3-4 times per charge. I tried the one in this thread and returned it because it wasn't great at concrete bends because of its size. I didn't see the 40v appeal vs the cumbersome design.

I got one last year about and I need to call on warranty because edging along my sidewalk something broke in it and now the blade won't spin. It was ok prior to it, but not as good as other edgers I've had. The drop wheel and base made it easier to push but moot when it dies pretty quickly

I got the 18v brushed Blemished bare unit for $40 since I already had batteries and charger.
I'm always happy to use it and I admire my lawn when done.

Yeah, an auger for digging holes would be a worthwhile upgrade to 40 V. Edger, not so much.

I wish some smart engineer could come up an edger like this but convertible to a heavy duty trimmer. A single-purposed edger doesn't have a lot of appeals.

Got this for $125 from HD last October, mainly for the 40v battery.

Agreed. Same for me. I used to edge with the weed eater. Never again. Super easy and looks fantastic.

Thanks! Went ahead and grabbed this as I have a ton of onehp batteries already.

This went on sale for $125 THREE separate times last year, in Sept, Nov, and Dec. That really limits how slick this one is
