Great amp. It's been cheaper in the past, but I guess this is the new normal now.

Too bad code doesn't work on 15 Watt. Not sure I even need the 15 Watt. I'm just a bedroom hack. I have a Spark 2 that has more tones than I need. But want to try out a tube amp. I initially wanted the 15 watt amp because it has an effects loop and more knob adjustments. So the question i'm asking is, this for $150 or wait hope the 15 Watt goes on sale for $250ish?

As a fellow bedroom hack, i get a ton more enjoyment from the 12" speaker played loudly. I have the luxury of neighbors who haven't complained (yet) about my noise. And if you think you might ever play live with drums, the 15w can keep up. So it's better and more versatile.

The 8 inch is pretty great and makes the lovely tube sounds at a lower volume, but I can tell it's coming from a smaller speaker so it sounds, smaller, not quite as robust or deep. Some people prefer the sound and behavior of smaller speakers, so YMMV. Maybe look for some comparisons on YouTube or at a local guitar center type place.

Unless you are very serious about your pedals, I think using them without the fx loop is just fine.

Thanks for the info! I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on this 5-watt amp. I watched several YT videos and they were all positive. I can always return it if it doesn't meet my needs, but I have a good feeling about it. I'm mainly after clean tones, and I'm hoping this tube amp delivers. And thanks to the OP for posting.

No 12" Celestion.
No reverb tank.
No FX loop connections (for riff looper, different mods etc..).
No EQ. No dice.
No metal or heavy rock the way it's meant to be
Not the best tube circuit. That matters more than the tube types.
Price not that great.
We need the 15W 12" combo at $200 to $215 on sale again. You would get all the above; that way. For just $50 to $65 more.
12" speaker matters. It's your FR filter. 12ax7 pre amp sound matters. EL84 matters. The VOX like circuit matters (component values and order), the cabinet matters (sufficient for portability with the 15W, OK sound). The 70/80 speaker is a bargain for you, and not bad, like some say. It works well in the MP 15W combo and is easy to replace. 25lbs. If you want full metal tone the traditional way was a tube screamer pedal up front; but a multi pedal/unit can do also and save a lot. Plus modernize a classic tube amp.

Just got my 5W Monoprice tube amp delivered yesterday. Haven't had much time to really dig in yet, but first impressions are solid. It has a nice, clean, articulate tone right out of the box. I created a deal alert on the 15W version. Maybe that will go on sale Black Friday.

Yes; but black Friday is always overrated and the MP 15W sales can be before or after. So they could pop up at any time; in this later half of 2025. And they will likely tease with around $250 first, or tiers to get the low hanging fruity. LOL And the lowest price (Guessing $215 to $199 shipped) might only last part of a day or two (or less) and be sold out fast. [But past trend is no 100% guarantee. as they say].

NO! I do not work for MP. I have found them to be honest and they will make up for any mistakes, like shipper damage. And they did credit back the difference, if you missed the absolute best deal. [best deals that last, like 2 seconds, LOL]. Within your return window option.
Oh beware. they do play this game of a % off; that sometime is off of the lowest price and other time the lowest sale price already includes the % off already. Be sure to compare the "drive out" price with shipping. Then of course; slick ways to save more, apart from MP. Like Visa credits or something.

Suggestion: Set your price in stone and don't buy over that. Never on emotion. We have many other great gear deals out there. I prefer saving up instead of buying any "practice" amps (but I like under 25W to 15W amps. The sweet spot for volume; when with tubes. Depending on if it does bedroom volume to and stage volume well. Loudness, whatever. 20 to 100db. With the MP 15W the will be like 0.8, and fine on the Volume knob to start (bedroom level hair ROCK, and metal boast with a pedal-multi!). Of course, clean (low gain, high Volume knob) guitar too. With enough clean headroom for stage or against live drums. Not stadium clean; but horses for course.
And [uh humm] we only need one set, and maybe a backup right? Not a barn full; but you know who you are, if you're a "collector". We'll start a support group. LOL. G.A.S.

You are not just a drop in an ocean. Your buying vote counts! Stay CHEAP!
