Heavily considering getting this phone. I have a fold 5 and I kind of want the fold 7. I loved Samsung for so long, but privacy concerns have gotten to me. I'm ready to de-google and this is the only folding device that gives you that ability. This and the google pixel 9 pro are the only phones fully compatible with Graphene OS. So, if you're ready to get invasive AI out of your business and ready to get the best in privacy and security this would be a good choice.
*Never mind, looks as if this are T-Mobile phones. I'm verifying with the seller. If they are T-Mobile, it is highly likely the oem-unlock is disabled and you won't be ablet o unlock it to install Graphene OS
** Confirmed not OEM unlocked from seller reply.

obsolete? pixel fold will receive software/security updates as well as new features via pixel drops thru 2028.

In that case, you should probably post that comment on some obsolete technology post then, not here.

In for one. Repped. Looks like the battery can be swapped out, so that's probably worst case scenario. By the way, the only guarantee I could find on battery health was one of the images in the listing and that said minimum 80%, not 85%. BUT, I kind of doubt the seller would have such stellar reviews if they were shipping out phones with really crappy battery health.

Most of the users will 'abuse' phone's battery: fast charging, charge to 100%, keep it in charger over night, plug it when it is at 40-50%, so... they guarantee only a minimum of 85% and it is like playing the lottery, you may get a 95% or a 86%...
full charging doesn't affect battery health, neither does frequency.

So maybe my use of word obsolete was a bit excessive.. But Pixel Pro 9 Fold has been out and 10 Fold is coming out soon in a month or two.. So for a phone two versions old - would you guys still recommend even if at this price? I usually make my phone cycle last much longer than average user but when I do switch I want relatively latest..
However, I do have a need for a cheaper phone for my college kids.. If you guys think its worth it - I can actually bite the bullet on this!

If this were a two-version old Samsung device, I'd say no. But with a Pixel series, at least you will reliably get updates on time and you will continue getting updates and features for the next 3 years.

Charging when the battery drops to 20–30% and stopping around 80–90% is healthier than full cycles.

And apple still sells iphone 13s when the 16 is out. heck they still sell refurb 11s and 12s directly as well. That said its under 500usd, while the new one this year will be 1500-2000usd. thats still a deal. you get a folding phone, you get pure google(if thats your thing) and you get it for relatively cheap. id be in for one myself IF i didnt have a pixel 7 which has the same processor. thats still alot of money on a phone thats more sidestep than upgrade.

There's a reason this is a frontpage deal with 20 thumbs up. The production of these ended less than a year ago, it is only one generation behind the current available, not two (we can get into "I wouldn't even advise getting the one they probably will announce in the next few months because I bet they'll announce another one in 2026, so wait to get that one" in some other thread), and the price is great for an 'excellent' grade refurb with a 1 year warranty.
I just got a 25+ this year so I don't need one, but I was going to pick one up to replace my work phone. I decided to get one of the deals at Fi instead, simply because I'm not sure I want a fold for work - maybe a flip, but I don't see the need for a large display. I can see college students may utilize a large screen, but I certainly won't as I just need something simple at work for pings and calendar use.
Trying to keep up with tech, which most users don't need, is a fight I don't need.

There is a reason many devices now have an option to stop charging at 85%. I wonder what that is.. hmmm?

I own Samsung flips for last 4-5 years and my wife is on Samsung Fold.. While SW updates is a good points, I feel it takes two-three iterations on hardware for manufacturer to get it right. For ex Flip 6 is signficantly superior to Flip 4. Google is still new to foldables - so thats another one of my concerns! but I am almost ready to click Buy if someone who has owned this for an year+ recommends!

FYI these devices are NOT factory unlocked. They are carrier unlocked devices which means the bootloader cannot be unlocked (aka OEM Unlocked option is grayed out).
