I highly recommend against Hisense, If you do choose to get it make sure you purchase an extended warranty or buy from Sam's or Costco where there are 3-5 year warranties included. I've never had a TV just power cycle. I read somewhere that Hisense owns Toshiba so that may account for some of the recent quality issues with their tvs. Toshiba was never a great brand for flat screens.

I bought a HIsense 58R6E5 back on Black Friday 2024 from Walmart. I was watching a movie on Hulu about a week ago and it suddenly went to the HIsense screen and wouldn't do anything. I unplugged it over night and tried to plug in back in the next day. Nothing. I did a hard reset. Nothing. I tried to do a factory reset. Nothing. I tried getting help through hisense and they said my tv and serial number didn't exist. I don't want to call them and sit there with them for hours having me do shit I've already done that didn't fix it.
I don't know what happened. I've never done anything with the TV, never downloaded anything or put anything into the USB drive. Just trying to get my TV unbricked. It's pretty new, like 7 or 8 months old.

I only care about basics. I had two 55" TCLs (Roku) that I gave to family. The first was replaced by the 65" Hisense, and for my most recent 65" I went back to TCL Roku. The TCLs have a few annoyances here and there but I've never been as angry with a TV as I have been with the Hisense.

Do expect better quality than the generic $150 Walmart sale of the week. Don't expect high quality features like 120hz or local dimming. Return promptly if there are issues.
Quality control is a problem for all technology from all brands. Washers and dryers. Refrigerators. TVs. Computers. Every thread is full of "my ABC XL9000 fell apart after two months, never buying again!"
You can save some headaches by never connecting your TV to the internet and never installing updates. Hisense Android TVs definitely have trash UI performance and I've heard a few rumors of regular updates bricking some models. If it works the day you bring it home, keep it that way forever and plug in your own streaming stick. Your $20 Roku will perform better and if it breaks, won't melt your entire panel.
