Yeah, I was intrigued by this when I thought that, even if the color isn't good, it's still the same for normal B&W books. However, a lot of reviews say that due to minimized contrast, the Colorsoft is actively WORSE for normal text-based books. So yeah, I'd wait.

IMO, this is not a good deal. Wait till gen 2 or 3 for color. The regular kindle Paperwhite is better

It's cheaper if you order this bundle (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...0DER&psc=1), and cancel the two accessories before they ship. You'll get a refund proportionately, making this item ~$169 before tax.

Some have reported being unable to cancel the items separately, could only cancel the whole bundle

OK, maybe it's not a generic enough method but for me, one of the items in the bundle was allowed to be cancelled because it wasn't delivered on promised time.

I like mine, I love the color and it's like reading the old comic books. I prefer it over my Paperwhite, but tastes vary.

My daughter (8) is kind of obsessed with "graphic novels" at the moment. She has a paperwhite but loathes having to read these books on it, so I have to give her the tablet, which is frequently too much of a temptation when it comes to just playing a game instead. Would this be suitable for her? Being a kid and this being solely for books with pictures consumption, I don't think she would have the same standards or complaints as us adults. Anyone have a kid using one of these that can offer feedback?

Paperwhite is enough for me for reading. Who reads books on colored paper other than comics.

Only 3.5/5 stars rating. That's downright bad for a kindle.

Just got mine today (bought the bundle). Definitely a different reading experience. Reports are true, text appears grainier / fuzzier and the background is grayish. That being said, my books now have color to them and for younger kids, the color helps given the graphics embedded within. After spending some time I got used to the change and love the speed / overall feel especially with the cover. Was initially confused they didn't send me the wireless charger as the box is fully Anker branded. All in all with the 20% trade in and bundle pricing it was a good upgrade coming off a 6th gen Kindle.

The first/early batch had a yellow band issue at the bottom of the screen. They've since been corrected in the recent batch but the scars from the initial snafu remains. Good on Amazon for not editing comments and scores. I personally love my colorsoft.
