I can't remember if I got this or the Watch 5 Pro refurbished for Christmas, but it was incredibly slow.

It must have been the 5. I have this watch and it works well. I think I had the 4 before, and it worked well too, but had poor battery life. I had to charge it every night. The 7 is a lot better, I charge it once every few days. That being said I got it much cheaper with a trade in deal a while back.

Edit: just checked, it was ~$55 after trade in

Got this for $75 with trade in last fall. No problems with it although I don't use it every day

I got this watch during the Samsung trade-in deal for $100. Coming from a Versa 2, it's a nice watch overall and mimics Fitbit capabilities surprisingly well, but you have to go through and change a lot of settings out of the box to get it that way. There are also a few interesting features that are unavailable unless you're using a Samsung phone, like ECG (there are modded APKs for Samsung Health floating around to bypass the limitations, but there are downsides).

The biggest flaw for me, however, is that after you enable the settings to get it up to par with a Fitbit for health tracking, the battery life is pretty horrible. With my Versa 2, I was able to get about 2+ days of battery life on a charge. With this watch I'm down to about 10% battery after 24 hours or so, and it starts winding down watch functionality to save battery around that point - and that's just wearing the thing, barely opening any apps.

Pretty good deal.
I have one and I have a new band on the way, it's very uncomfortable with the stock band.
I'll add that the base Apple Watch Series 10 is way more comfortable. But, unfortunately, having an iPhone is a requirement for using an Apple Watch.
Also, the features and software fragmentation is probably worse on WearOS than it is with Android. It's pretty disappointing as it takes some effort to really get the most out of these devices.

until the battery technology allows you to use this for a week before needing a charge it's not worth it. I have to charge mine every day.

Wow $55 after trade-in that's crazy. I'll trade in my Watch 4 for $55 any day... but you're right, the 4 needs to be charged every day.

I traded my watch 5 for watch 7 and it was 79.99 This year's trade in sucks. I would need to pay 179 trading in my watch 7.

Not at all surprised considering the new watch starts with a higher MSRP and is a compete redesign.

The watch 7 was just a faster watch 6 and there is no 7 classic. They really needed to give incentives to sell the 7.

The 8 doesnt have any spec upgrades, right? Almost everything seemed to be identical watch 8 vs watch 7

and you are right. the watch 7 was 329 and 8 is 379... watch 7 was 250 off and watch 8 200 off so thats the 100 difference.

It's still a compete redesign. People are going to want the new design and the classic. They don't need to give incentives to sell it.
