I will add in one other issue some people may be running into. The entire mechanical linkage blade through shaft to electric motor weights less than the equivalent on a gas mower. Which means it has less inertia - rotational inertia if you want to be persnickety. Which means it will bog down a little faster when you have anything other than a single clump of really thick fescue. The self-propelled mowers from Greenworks claim to use a constantly varying speed based on the electronics constantly monitoring everything. The push mowers use a constant speed for the blade tips. Either way you aren't doing the same level of maintenance as you need to do every spring with a gas mower. But you need to keep the blades well sharpened, and the retaining nut is plastic on the Kobalt/early Greenworks push mowers, so do not crank it down like some people do.
man if this was self propelled I would pull the trigger at the price.. getting a bit old for all the ups and downs in my yard with my gas mower.. so I could take the trade off with the battery life.. damn.
I have the self propelled version that I got in a Package. The mower works great and is plenty light. I never use the self propel function, so would be just as happy with this one.
I have this one, it's good, but just want to note their customer service sucks. I bought this one and minutes later I saw a different one that could suck up leaves so I wanted to cancel my order and get that one. You can't cancel online, so I spent hours on the phone waiting to talk to someone, when I did they said it was already shipped which was total BS. They told me I would have to mail it back to them which would cost more than I spent on the damn thing. I'm very happy with the mower, but I hold a grudge against the company. I found many people who had similar complaints.
I'm hoping it will mow my 1/3rd of an acre Bermuda. No battery energy going into propelling it.
It might be close depending on how thick your grass is and how hard or hilly your yard is. I have a little under 1/3 acre, grass is thin, level ground, takes about 80 minutes more or less to mow, and the 8amp 80v battery will barely do it. This is with the Greenworks self propelled 80V mower without using any self propel and without using turbo mode.
I run a gas mower for most of the yard but need a cheap one for running through the culvert. Anyone have experience with one of these on slopes? Trying to save the Honda mower from unnecessary runs around the slopes.

No need for self-propel. This thing is so light and easy to guide.
Just talked myself into buying it. I already have this model but it's 3-4 years old but could use a new battery with more charge. If I went to replace the battery it would cost about half the cost of the whole mower/battery combo. Figured my blade would be sharp, new battery and new mower for 250.00 is a great deal on this.
Figured I might also be able to clean up the old mower and sell it with the battery for about 75.00 since it still works good.
