Based on Microsoft's help page for GamePass code conversions (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/he...onversions), these codes will convert to 114 days of GamePass Ultimate if you already have an active Ultimate subscription. If you don't, they will convert to 6 months of Ultimate if you redeem the code, then buy a month of Ultimate.
Normally secondhand sites have these codes at a much cheaper rate, but at the time of writing, the top two sites either have them out of stock or at just a couple of dollars cheaper, depending on where you look.

Since some seemed to miss the link already posted: here [xbox.com] is the current conversion chart for subscription upgrades and codes of various types applied to existing subscriptions.

Back when conversions for existing GPU subs were 2:1, I would have been all over this since it would have resulted in a net $4.92/mo cost (no sales tax where I live). However, since this will now only convert to 114 days of GPU, it results in a $15.52/mo net cost. The days of <$5/mo GPU for existing members are truly dead.

I'm paid up until October of 2027, but I extend to 36 months when a good sale comes up. The last one I found that was worth buying was 3-month GPU codes from Eneba/CDKeys for $26-28 (~$9/mo net cost).

when I tried to use the code (which is displayed on the sale page of the item), it says this code is not allowed for this item? But no reason given for why you can't use the code?

The promo code must be single-use, because I was able to load up a cart with five GPC codes and at the checkout page it still showed an $80 discount.

Has anyone done the VPN trick recently to buy Gamepass and activate under a different country for significantly cheaper? I've done it three times but it's been almost two years so not sure if they fixed that loophole yet.

It doesn't work like that anymore. I have 2 years left so I'm keeping an eye out on deals. It's significantly worse than the vpn trick of the past.

So what's the current state of Gamepass? Do you just keep finding deals on Monthly Core, then you buy a single month of Ultimate to convert a fraction of Core months to Ultimate? Then repeat? What happens if you converted all your Core to Ultimate then you add on more Cores (say 6 more months). Does it convert to Ultimate as well?
