Not a good mower.
Why do you say that? I've had a Greenworks 60v 21" mower for 4 years and have had zero problems. Is there something wrong with this model?

I've been looking at the 80v version as I already have a tool and battery already. This is a great price. The extra deck space will save you time in the long run. 60v is on the way out but it's hard to argue with the deal. I pulled the trigger.

Looking at reviews, it's not as good at mulching as they'd like it to be but does a good job handling decent sized yards.

Earlier today there's an 80v one on sale for under $300. That is the same one being compared to this mower in here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nd1Axq2tWSs

I looked at the video you mentioned...

This guy is mowing a hillside weedy field, where he says "I don't cut this field every few weeks or so", and you see the grass is 6 inches high, and he's trying to cut this with those 2 mowers.

He needs a weedwacker or at least gas power mower at the least to mow that field.
No reasonable person is going to use a battery mower and mow 6+ inches of grass like him.

I personally have no problem with this battery powered mower. I used this to mow 2+ acres weekly. It has given me no problems, given I know and understand it's limitation -- that is:

1. You mow regularly during the mowing season.
2. Battery mowers don't like wet grass, and this mower will clog with long wet grass. So the solution is wait until the grass is dry to mow.

If you say this is a bad mower, and you personally experienced a mechanical / electrical breakdown, then I would say you have good reason, but I don't think you have proved your point.

I am buying this thing again, because I want to have two of these so the 2 family members can do the work in 1/2 of the time, but we have run this mower 4-6 hours each week in the mowing season (I happened to have 4 batteries right now), and I will tell you it runs 4+ hours a day without any problems.

Pricewise this is a even better price than last year, so let others who want one buy it.

The 60v line is being discontinued?

That's not gospel. From what it appears they aren't investing more into the 60v anymore. Haven't seen new skus for those for some time. They still support the 60v that are out there.

Worse performance and more expensive.

I also have the 80v 21" mower for 6 years without any issues. But I don't mulch, only bag my grass, rarely let it get above 5", and try not to mow when it's wet. The larger deck definitely looks intriguing if I ever need to replace it unless the reliability is worse.

I've had one since 2020. Still working great. I purchased a backup in 2023 that came with two batteries from Tractor Supply for $400 with 12 months no interest. I only put a battery in to make sure it is running and still haven't had to use it.

I have two. One I haven't used to cut the grass because my 5 year old one is still working great.

Keep in mind, this is nylon gear driven, and they dont sell the gears. I dont think its worth the risk over the 21" or 22" versions.

Good deal, had this mower two seasons now and cuts fine. I am aware it's a unique design and the possibility it might break and be 'unfixable' due to lack of parts in the future but I'm fine with that. The 25'" deck saves me at least an hour a week over my old 21" deck in this extremely wet summer. It keeps me from even thinking about hiring a landscaper to mower so it's more than paid for itself at this point. The headlights were unexpectedly useful too.
