I recently replaced one of my fire tablets that I run Home Assistant dashboard with a TBSPG100110027. The specs are slightly different than this one, but it runs a HA dashboard way better than a fire tablet.

There's an XDA thread on rooting this tablet, if that's of interest to folks.

I had the first gen of the Onn 10' Pro it had minimal bloat, it was good for a streaming apps like ReVanced YT + music apk, PurpleTV for twitch, and manga reader. Disable Chrome, install Firefox with Ublock Origin extension .

Tip: Turn off window and transition animations in developer options (tap build to unlock developer options) to make it feel less sluggish.

How many years of security updates will android 13 receive? Google says three years and it looks like Android 13 was release in August 2022.

How many more years of security updates will this device receive? I saw that Android 13 was released in August 2022 and Google mentioned that normally each Android OS is supported for three years.
I hope i'm wrong as this looks like a pretty solid tablet.

Sorry, somehow asked this question twice.

This is my first run with tablets and didn't know about some shipping with Widevine L3 (Netflix or Prime will be limited to 480p). For a product vetted by Walmart, you'd think all would have L1 support. Oh well, burning $49 is not too bad for first mistake. It is still a useful product for multitasking browsing and youtube/jellyfin, so I'll be keeping it.

Can someone check the Widevine level for the 10.4 model? Pretty important for watching Netflix, Youtube, etc. in full HD/4k. This is probably going to be a comics/manga/media device for me.

how is this for kids? mostly Roblox and YouTube, trying to ditch the Amazon fire kids tablets! lol
I got these for my 7 and 9 year olds last year and they no longer use their Amazon Fire tablets. They love these things!

My fire tablets all started lagging as my dashboards became more complicated, especially with security camera streams. Screen presses wouldn't always register and when they did the action was delayed.

I also had issues keeping the screen always on when there wasn't power to the fire tablets.

Do you use the dashboard through the Home Assistant app or a kiosk mode browser?

I have some fire tabs sitting round I was going to use to do this. Sounds like maybe I should get one of these instead?

In my research, I came down to the 11" pro, fire 11 max, and t3. I went with the t3 for $90. The fire software is terrible and onn doesn't have widevine l1. Mine hasn't come in yet but I think it's the best value in this price range if the screen size suits you.
It is a SOLID tablet. Based on the three you mentioned, I think the T3 is the best. The Fire Pro 11" only runs about 8% faster and the amount of bloat will make it about the same speed.
I bought my T3 in March 2024, but I got the 8GB version for the same price.
It is the CHEAPEST tablet anyone should buy today... point is don't buy cheaper specs.
Also, expect no updates. Just don't do any banking on your Tablet. And ENJOY.

The storage specs are real close to that $70 32gb Amerzon HD10 and I bet this has a newer os..
The Fire HD10 has a top notch screen though, just as good as the previous gen iPad. Is this tablet's screen quality just as good?

i am smart enough NOT to use some chinese noname tablets. at least i can use these onn tablets for my mobile pos terminal or square with my real google and bank accounts. or even a simple amazon app. do you trust your chinese tablets for those?
No, you are NOT smart enough. Every tablet is made in China and just because you don't know of the name does not mean much.
So you are using your Onn to access your bank info and you think you are fully protected... LOL. I don't feel protected using a Samsung devices, it has been proven that they don't provide ALL security updates for everything even though they may say they do. Google articles if you want the proof. Or Lenovo that came with spyware installed BY LENOVO (they got PAID to put spyware on their devices in the past), when it is done by the company with FULL permission something is very wrong.
The only devices I TRUST is my pc/laptop and my google phone and my chromebook.
I would have to say I trust Lincplus more then Onn. LincPlus was established in 2018 in Shenzhen, China by a group of tech enthusiasts. It has since grown and expanded into the European and American markets.
What makes Lincplus so special is that they offer the BEST VALUE in the world for a CHEAP tablet. And I would say without a doubt that the Lincplus T3 is the best value in the world for a decent tablet.
The problem with this 10.4" Onn is that IT IS NOT EVEN DECENT... it is so slow, that it is a headache to use and that is the truth.

I purchased this in 2023 for a family member and its been rock solid. Used daily for i'd say 8 hours, light gaming, streaming, and shopping. It hasnt failed yet. May pick up another one at this price.
Does it get Android version updates?

Others in this thread have mentioned that you can root this tablet, but does anyone know what the custom ROMs are like for this tablet? Are there any decent ones? I just want a clean android with zero bloatware for reading e-books. My eyesight is going bad, haha
