Obviously the safest thing to do if you're planning on doing this is to root it during the return window on the off chance it bricks.

the CHEAPEST tablet I can recommend as a decent Android experience is the Lincplus T3 which is sold at Amazon for $90.
I can not recommend any tablet cheaper then this one.... Sorry.

I was making fun of the wording on the original post, I have no idea what version is currently available (officially or not), you should be able to find that out on XDA.

My current setup doesn't even have camera live streaming in the dashboard and fully kiosk would crash constantly

My apologies, you're right. I was thinking I was on the fire tablet forum when I read this.
What is the issue? I was thinking of getting this for HA dashboard.
