I recently replaced one of my fire tablets that I run Home Assistant dashboard with a TBSPG100110027. The specs are slightly different than this one, but it runs a HA dashboard way better than a fire tablet.

There's an XDA thread on rooting this tablet, if that's of interest to folks.

I had the first gen of the Onn 10' Pro it had minimal bloat, it was good for a streaming apps like ReVanced YT + music apk, PurpleTV for twitch, and manga reader. Disable Chrome, install Firefox with Ublock Origin extension .

Tip: Turn off window and transition animations in developer options (tap build to unlock developer options) to make it feel less sluggish.

It's based on outdated versions of Android not getting security updates. It's based on facts. Enjoy your spyware and by all means enter your banking information.
Everything you said is a lie. And what is your problem with ChineseMagic oppps I meant Redmagic? They have an American presence, you buy your product using US dollars and they ship you the product. How much more American do you want???!!!!
AND RedMagic provides five years of software support, including major Android OS upgrades and regular security patches, in compliance with new EU regulations that took effect on June 20, 2025.

And I will say this again...
the CHEAPEST tablet I can recommend as a decent Android experience is the Lincplus T3 which is sold at Amazon for $90.
I can not recommend any tablet cheaper then this one.... Sorry.
And I have the Lincplus T3 and I give it two BIG thumbs up.

Will it run Android 16 (2025)?

I was making fun of the wording on the original post, I have no idea what version is currently available (officially or not), you should be able to find that out on XDA.

I just got one in. It does pretty good except for a couple of my higher res (6+ MP) security cameras. I might have to see if I can feed them the substream or setup a lower res mainstream or something.

There's a link to the XDA thread in the wiki (or the post above this), but as far as flash-ready custom roms (i.e. you don't kneed to do any tweaking/guesswork) there isn't anything major. Mainly instructions are for just rooting it and that's it. More popular models get that kind of stuff.

Edit- I was incorrect.

My current setup doesn't even have camera live streaming in the dashboard and fully kiosk would crash constantly

Unfortunately, there no root for this device. You can download "Firetoolbox" and disable Amazon apps and install Google play store and it's services. However, there's no true root. The app allows you to highjack the default OS. My recommendation is to not update it if you choose to buy it. The latest firmware restricts it even more.
Talking about the onn. tablet in this thread, which already is basic android and not fireOS. Instructions are here: https://xdaforums.com/t/root-how-...s.4662408/

(though I'd read through the whole thread)

No mention of Bluetooth, so this doesn't have it? I was thinking of something like this to display my battery monitor app, and motor speed control dashboard on my golf cart. Both need Bluetooth ;(

My apologies, you're right. I was thinking I was on the fire tablet forum when I read this.

weird, I bought this tablet for a dedicated HA dashboard but it ended up being close to unusable. About to return it but wondering if I can tune the tablet a bit to free up some ram?

What is the issue? I was thinking of getting this for HA dashboard.
