You can get refurbished F7n touch with hardwire kit for $81 from RedTiger ebay webpage. it comes wtih 12 month warranty.

You can get the red tiger f7n touch for $103. That's basically the f7np but with an upgraded starvis 2 sensor in front and only 1080p sensor in back. It's $85 for the f7np and $102 for the upgraded f 7 n touch which not only gives you voice command touch screen starvis 2. Front sensor. It's basically the f7 and P but with with touch screen voice command and a starvis 2 sensor up front smoking setup. I think that would put it in a tie for first place on project farm

I usually prefer the more inconspicuous dash cams like the viofo A-series which are a little bit worse in quality but close at 1660p instead of this one at 2160p. The inconspicuous nature of this dash cam has saved my hide more than a couple of times.

Most of their "4k" cameras are upscaled, not real 4k. On top of that they use a wide angle lens so zooming in for license plate is more difficult.

Their higher end cameras are supposed to be real 4k but the 160, or even 170, angle takes away from the quality.

What is the purpose of the touch screen feature?
Also, is there a good dash cam that runs on a battery? I prefer to avoid hardwired options.

Can't speak for the touch screen but battery on a dash cam is a bad idea, unless you want the dash cam to go kaboom. You want a dash cam with a capacitor since it handle heat better than a battery. You can use the hardwire kit to have it use the car battery if you need parking recording, you just need to hook it up to a fuse that's always on. Some hardwire kits have a threshold to cut off power if the car battery drops to a certain voltage so you don't drain your car's battery
