Big Nope. Mini-USB charger. I got the 3pack with USB-C for about that price.

2 mile range sucks because you want 10-15 mile range to get 5 mile talking

Just received the USB-C versions of these yesterday and they'll probably get returned. No battery charge indicator and no display. Better options in this price range IMO.

The no display part gets me, also. I ordered these, for when the grandkids go on bike rides. I currently have a few Midland T51a models. They do have a battery indicator, but still when the batteries start to get low, it's difficult to understand the other person. They work pretty good, and reach a good distance(½ mile), considering they are 305mW, according to FCC ID. The Retevis RT 22 are 1.08 W.
As a ham operator I feel your pain, but the nose display screen is for people that shouldn't be touching the radio unless you hand it to them. Especially if you're giving it to kids, it's got buttons on it, you don't want them pushing buttons, change the frequencies and subtones. I've played with these radios, and as long as you don't have a big giant building, I live in the brush of arizona, and it gets about three miles barely 2miles strong.

Thanks!. I do appreciate the reply, and the info. I was curious about these vs the Retevis H-777, but these seem to have better reviews.

None that don't have the buttons. That's one of the entire points of being GMRS; being programmable/adjustable. Plenty that are waterproof, small, and easy to carry though not as small as the lower power FRS ones can get. But all of the GMRS have the ability to lock the buttons to prevent accidental presses.
Thanks for the reply!. (I initially missed it) I may break down and buy a couple of GMRS radios soon, just not sure which one. Which I check out the discussions, some people seem to really like certain ones, and other people say they would never buy that brand and/or model.

I've tried to copy/paste and manually type in the code several times and I cannot get the discount to register.Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?I add item to cart, then on payments page I click the link for "Use a gift card, voucher or promo code". Then I enter the code, and it redirects to the checkout page and there is no discount. If it's relevant I'm paying with an Amazon gift card. Thanks for any advice.
I didn't think it took either. But, on the upper right, it shows, "Use this payment method"? That is what I got, after applying code. Then the next page is where the discount shows.

Anyone try these radios before? Any good?
Use these for my guys at our warehouses. Travel good through thick concrete walls. We mostly use them because at -20F they don't have any issues with those temps

I get the frustration, but having consistently bought small electronics over the past 15 years, I have a lot more generic Mini USB charging cables than USB-C. Obviously C is far more futureproof and easier, but it's not like Mini is going away.

I'm still trying to stop shoving old Lightning cables into my new iPad Smilie

I bough these for $34.99.

https://www.amazon.com/Retevis-Po...B0CPVLLY6X

They are only half an inch think but have a 1620 mAh battery vs 1000 mAH battery. There was no Prime day deal and you only get two but like the LCD screen to be able to see battery life.

Would this work good in a cruise ship?
From what I read lots of people use FRS radios on cruise ships so even with the "privacy" tones there is a lot of interference.

A better option is the license free 800 Mhz spread spectrum encrypted radios where no one can listen into buy they are much more expensive.

They are $35 for two and no Prime Day deal but they have a display which shows battery % remaining, and a much larger battery 1620 mAh vs 1000 mAh and are only 1/2 inch thick. According to the FCC ID number the power output is 1.490 watts.

Actually there is a GMRS radio that's simpler and easier to carry.. but it isn't cheap.
https://rockytalkie.com/products/5-watt-radio
And requires a license ($35 for ten years) and the requirement to ID with your callsign

Right, for new hardware -- but that doesn't solve the billions of cables already out there.

I still prefer C, just pointing out that mini isn't exactly a hassle.
