how this compares to roborock? I had a roborock before but this brand has a new store near me
I went to the new Dreame store in town and the rep explained to me that Dreame (has Xiaomi investment) in China competes with Roborock, Xiaomi, and iRobot at the top. You can't buy Xiaomi robots here as far as I know, and non-affiliated reviewers all say Roombas (iRobot) suck, so you can't really go wrong with either Roborock or Dreame (or Dreame's sub brand MOVA).
There's an option for each budget over $300.
Around $300: L10s
Around $400-500: L40 Ultra (this post), MOVA P10 pro ultra
Around $700: X40 Ultra, MOVA P50 pro ultra
This is basically the best bang-for-your-buck that you'll get. IMO the best brand is Roborock, but their closest model with all these features is on sale around $1k. Dreame's sub-brand is MOVA, and the Mova P10 Pro Ultra is basically a rebranded L40 Ultra, so if this goes out of stock, see if that's available (It's usually a bit cheaper even). The only difference between the two is a different app (It's basically a carbon copy of this one) and the Mova doesn't have the ability to automatically remove it's mop pads.
If you do end up grabbing this (I did) look at grabbing a tricut brush - It helps tremendously with hair of any kind. They have them pretty cheap on Aliexpress & Amazon, or the official one is $50.

I have an L20, which I think is a similar mopping setup, and I think it does a pretty good job. One of the things I need almost daily mopping for is dogs drool spots on the hardwood, and the L20 cleans those up. The water is usually decently dirty when I dump it, so the mop is cleaning something up.
How does this compare to the Roborock Q7 M5+ and Roborock Q10 S5+? Both are prime day deals.
I won't be using mopping, but being able to somewhat precisely create areas to avoid is important to me.
Looks like the DREAME L40 Ultra and Roborock Q10 S5+ have obstacle avoidance while the Q7 M5+ doesn't. We don't have kids in the house, but have cats, so cat toys and cat vomit.

You will be able to create avoidance zones on any of these models, they all have lidar mapping and create a floor plan of your home. As far as vacuuming , The dreame L40 has a side brush that extends to better clean corners. Otherwise the main advantage of the Dreame is the mopping performance and the dock that holds water and cleans the mop pads. I'm in the same boat , don't need mopping, I think the roborock q10 s5 plus seems like a good balance of features and price.
I have the l10s heat model. Their software is easy, lidar works well, and it rarely gets stuck. By rarely I mean once. I bought it on refurb on eBay. Highly recommend this brand.

They don't price match

How good is the mopping on these?
