So these are used and not refurbished by Dyson? Very risky.

And I believe this is a V11 model. eBay has a refurbished going for $239. You are better off getting that one.

It is not the v11 Outsize it is the Origin Outsize, the main difference between the two is that the v11 Outsize contains an extra battery and a few extra attachments. The main difference between the v11 standard and v11 outsize is that the dust bin is larger and the beater head attachment is larger. The outsize models are intended for larger houses with more cleaning requirements.

YMMV but I bought this exact one on June 1 for $229 and I received what seemed like a brand new vacuum. The original seal was broken and Amazon Resale put a new seal but it did not seem like the vacuum was used at all. Not sure why someone would open the seal and not use the vacuum. Maybe I just got lucky.

I want to want this because I'm in the market for a vacuum, but the last Dyson refurb I bought died within 4 years. Not the battery, the vacuum itself. If I could buy an extended warranty, I might have jumped on it.

I use this website to save money, not to buy something that, in my mind, should last 10-15 years, but only lasts 4.

I'm not seeing that the V11 Outsize or Origin Outsize have an extra battery. It seems like that's just the Gen5outsize?

4 years is not a bad life for a used vac. And most extended warranties only last 3 years in things like this

Going to roll the dice. Normally like new from amazon is new. Worst case scenario, send back. I paid that much for a shark stick vacuum 2 or so years ago and love it. Recently the two rollers broke off because of the plastic though which kind of sucks.

I believe this Dyson is much wider which will be really nice. Could not quickly find head size.

I bought this vacuum a month ago from Amazon at $211.00. They did not have new ones in stock for a while shipped and sold by Amazon but do now for $599.99. The vacuum I received was brand new, just had a few yellow fibers inside clearly from testing. I am not sure if they received a pallet that looked like it was unwrapped or "opened" in any way or not, but it is definitely a new vacuum in my experience. It is GREAT too! Just heavy FYI!

Funny it was cheaper a month ago. Got to love SD.
Yeah the biggest con to me was the trigger.... Like why do I need that? Might try to find a way to lock the trigger down so I do not have to hold it.

They have trigger locks on Amazon for a few $$ (aftermarket) but you can also just use a reusable zip tie or a million other things to temporarily put over the trigger so you don't have to hold it
And I am not sure where the comments about Dyson vacuums not lasting years is coming from - I've had mostly Dysons and have had 10+ years of Siberian Huskies floofing 24/7/365 and they've been absolutely rock solid minus a few smaller plastic bits breaking here (which didn't render them useless) and there and mostly from me just being impatient and causing that myself.
I'd say like with most things in life - treat it right and it'll last..but if you just treat it like "it's just a vacuum" or "well it was $600 it should take a beating" - yeah it'll probably only last a few years. Keep the filter clean so the motor isn't overworking.
In any event I pulled the trigger on one of these - we'll see how it arrives..I still have a V8 that works fine and a V11 - may or may not keep them depending on how this model performs. All I know is, a few passes on one of our longer runner rugs and the bin on both the V8 and V11 are essentially full so hopefully this lets us get a bit farther on the rugs lol - and that is with our robot vac running 6 days a week.

Thanks for pointing that out and the feedback overall. We have a roomba too but sadly does not get run as much because I cannot keep up with all the kid toys. Reason why having a stick vacuum has so handy recently. Quickly picked up one from Amazon.

My refurbed Hoover is at least 8 years old. I didn't realize Hoover made better vacuums than Dyson, thanks for letting me know.
