This is a sterile cultivar, (proven winners variety). However, you are correct the non sterile versions(older cultivars) can be a nightmare to remove!

I was going to get two of these but all of the most recent reviews are terrible/1 Star
I think this is because of the time of year. The issue with shipping plants is that, if it's too cold, they die because they freeze, and if it's too hot, they also die because they boil inside the package. Best time for shipping plants would be spring/fall, to avoid extreme temperatures. This applies to both indoor and outdoor plants. Grocery stores / hardware stores get their plants (at least the indoor ones) in climate controlled trucks. Fancier sellers of indoor plants usually only ship plants with expedited shipping and add heat packs in winter etc

I ordered one because the price is good and I see some people get their plants ok I am not sure where exactly it's going to ship from, Seattle area is not always very hot but it's been getting warm for the past 2 weeks.

Great price if you want a million invasive seedlings popping up all over your yard with a deep taproot that's impossibly to pull up once they get a foot tall.

Would any gardener here know if this would fare well in afternoon sun only (west house beds)?

Shipped from NC. Plant came healthy and has buds already for flowers. I will leave it in pot for now and put in ground around Labor Day when it gets cooler
