They make you submit a photo including the serial number using an app that tracks location.

Some of us knew better and drilled drainage holes when first installed, before the recall.

How much is it in the warehouse
I just bought one in warehouse on 6/30. It was $369.99 in New Berlin, WI 53151. If you have the Costco app, click on Warehouse on the bottom and search, it should show you price and availability at the warehouse selected.

Check out the recall page. I think they was model numbers. And I think they've updated model numbers with the new models.

I ordered the one on Amazon then went to find the recall list that another comment mentioned…turns out both the model number listed for this and the Amazon one are both on the recall list. So not sure what that means. I'd like to assume that they wouldn't still be selling them but now I don't know…

What do they ask you becuase I bought mines at homedepot in cash long time ago. Wonder if they will compensate me also?
they want a picture of the side of the unit showing model information. They will then validate if it is part of the recall. If it is they want a picture of the unit with a cord cut. they will send you a check or virtual CC for approx $433 for the unit. No a creative person who wants to keep the unit would figure out how to do this without actually cutting the cord on the unit and using a cord from another AC.

Costco wouldn't be selling them if they were. They pulled all 'affected' units from their stock as the recall was issued.

Where did you drill your holes? Asking for a friend...

Do you have a picture of the wire. How many of these did you need?
There are 3 main wires and 2 or 3 small wires. Total 5-6 separate wires. I didn't use any product. I just manually tie them together to its respective wire and wrap with electrical tape.

Ummm ... Maybe I'm not fully understanding what you're planning... But do you really think the AC unit's bracket is designed to hold an extra 40 lbs of weight (assuming a monsoon comes along and fills the bucket before much can drain)?
Oh I have the unit on a home made shelf that goes into the ground. I could never figure out how to install the shelf it came with.
Then again I already had a shelf.

I got approved, and am still waiting for my refund in the mail.
I went through the process (wanting to cut my cord since it was mentioned in the recall notice), but when filling out the claim form they only had an option for repair or to mail it back in, and at the end of the process said they were sending me a kit to mail it.

Did you have an option when filling out the form to choose to cut your cord? Wondering if they changed the form

Instead of actually cutting the cord from the AC, I bought a same gauge white wire on amazon for 12 bucks, pulled the actual cord to the side and tapped it up to hide and attached the cord from amazon and cut, took a picture with it and got approved.
