Some of us knew better and drilled drainage holes when first installed, before the recall.

I'm fairly sure I'm not speaking only for myself here, but yes, absolutely.

Do you have a picture of the wire. How many of these did you need?

depending on your unit's power gauge, be careful of the small silver connections, I had to use 5 to reconnect mine https://www.youtube.com/shorts/wSIpuiibI0Q

Not a fire hazard? What did you cover everything with?

I used crimp connectors with shrink tubing for mine. Waiting for the check currently. Our unit had no mold, but I realized there were no drain holes at the end of last summer when it dumped a ton of water on my carpet as I was taking it out of the window. Found the recall this year and drilled a couple holes.

Is this a new version that came out after the recall?

Does the water accumulate on the inside bottom part?
Asking because I plan on plugging all the holes on the outside, and putting a 5 gallon water tank on top of it, to drip inside, to improve cooling.
Now if there is water that pools on the inside, well I should be able to figure that out, I hope
