Get the Midea . Very few controls on the front on the Hisense . Remote not much better . Had to use app to turn off eco mode on .. each time ( to keep the fan blowing all the time ).
Main drawback : the compressor is vertical . Causes vibrations each time compressor turnson and off .
The Midea compressor rests horizontally , no vibrations when compressor kicks in and out . The Midea has all controls in front , no need for remote or app . Remote easier to use .
I have both.

Great unit so far (bought earlier this summer). It is tall, but significantly narrower than similar units, which was the reason to get this, in addition to inverter and dual hose. I would think the noise is comparable to, if not quieter than, a similar Midea Duo. Paid full price. Wonder if they'd PM.

Thanks! We had bought two on the last deal for various family members and was just able to request price adjustment to the new lower price. Much appreciated!
BTW, they love the units. One of the questions we had was whether they needed to be drained very often. So far, they haven't had to drain them at all. Very quiet and work well.

If it's within 30 days, yes! I chatted with Costco today about it and I was already refunded the difference (~$100).

I got this unit last week after the refurbished Midea Duo (the $199 one) that we got in May had too many issues and I had to return it to Walmart after 2 months.

Up to you if you're willing to take the gamble on a refurb, mine was poorly refurbished and I wasn't willing to gamble again on it and lug an 80lb box back to Walmart, twice.

Just purchased this Hisense from Costco for about a week and it fits better in the small space we have and I really like it. It seems even quieter than the Midea Duo.

Thanks OP for the heads up on the price change. Reps!

EDIT: Also just FYI, Costco's page says the savings on this ends today 7/11, so if you're on the fence, get it now.

How do you even move this thing? The nice thing about the Midea units is that they're all on wheels so I just move them into the closet during the winter. The Midea also has 50% more cooling power than this.

This unit also has wheels underneath. Even though the Midea is a more powerful unit on paper, I think their use-cases are a bit different.

The vents are vertical and positioned higher up. So if you use the swing (oscillate) function, it works just like an upright oscillating fan but with much colder air. It might not cool a room as fast, but it can blow the cooled air directly towards/at you, which could have a greater perceived effect.

Will this work if you put it on its side? Wide and short works well for the space I have. Thanks

Will this work on my 450sqft uninsulated garage with no windows (I will need to make holes in the wall) in the South where it is hot and humid all summer long?

If it can cool my garage to 78 I'll be happy, I probably only use this 2 - 3 day per week for few hours.

I'll get the version with heat too.

Is it loud?
Not really at all, I use it at night in the bedroom and its the quietest one I've had.

I have this unit and been running it a little under a month through a few heat waves. I will say it does a really nice job and is way quieter than a typical window unit. One thing people are not commenting on is the fact that it really doesn't need to be drained as long as the humidity isn't super high. I mean, I'm in New England where it's ridiculously humid and so far it hasn't needed to be drained. So YMMV, but the numerous issues with the Midea 12k and it needing to be drained kept me away from that one (even though I posted that deal).
Very good point, I have yet to drain mine with a month in as well.

No, you can never rotate portable or window air conditioner units. They usually tell you to leave them upright for 24 hours if they have rotated in order for the refrigerant to move back into the correct area of the loop.

Looks like it's back up to regular price now. Originally, the sale was supposed to run through 7/15, but I guess SD gave their stock a good dent, haha.
