This is a different phone from the April deal. That deal was for the 2025 version. This is the older 2024 version.

Verizon is trying to nuke the 60 day rule right now. Everyone should file an FCC comment reply by July 21 to push back: https://www.reddit.com/r/verizon/...you_to_do/ - This article says the window has expired, but if you post a comment as a "reply to other comments" (it is on the FCC comment form under comment type) they will still field it.

I got Motorola Edge (2024) from total wireless 8 months ago and it was automatically unlocked after 60 days.

Havent even opened my 2024 yet, now its $50 less. Happening way too often on SD lately, wish someone would of told me about the 2025 being $165 instead of claiming the 2024 was the deal of the century.

Honestly not a bad deal, The Razr 2025 model was on sale for $165 but it's basically the same as the 2024 model. The only notable changes between the models include a ~5% increase in performance, slightly larger battery, and improved hinge design. I'd say go for this deal since the Razr 2025 model probably won't go on sale anytime soon

This!

The difference between them are minimal, this is definitely the better deal.

Does anyone know if Total Wireless limits the number of promotional phones on an account? I got in on the iPhone 14 and Edge deals earlier this year and didn't pay for second month and they both unlocked on time. So wondering if I'm able to get this Razr deal.

Also, does Tello number work for port-in?
Tello works. Tello took 5 days to give the porting information.

Do you know when the FCC is supposed to rule on the matter? Verizon already screwed customers by changing their unlock policy post purchase earlier this year. (60 days post activation to 60 days of paid service.)It would be a shame to jump through the hoops to get this deal to only have it be a 6 month paid service before unlock.
A vote is scheduled for July 24. But the number of comments is higher than expected (KEEP SUBMITTING).

I use GV and just yesterday set it up on my 2024 Moto G Power and it's VERY laggy with sending text and the connection has dropped a few times. It's now unlocked so will FB Marketplace the phone. Never had any issues with any other brands of Androids or iPhones.
Same, I've never had any issues with GV before, until I set it up on my Moto Edge. I'm not really sure what the issue is. I use GV every day, and I hate it when I'm unable to use my phone!

Just a heads up. While it is carrier unlocked after 60 days, ATT postpaid won't allow this model on their network. I'm ticked. There is no technical reason, just that ATT are pricks. Also, total wireless service sucks for me.
Had this issue with my Motorola. Go to the store, the rep will scan the imei and the system will flag it as not compatible/not supported. I told the rep to just give me a SIM card with my number on it. Popped it in and worked fine.

Is this how it usually works, or was this a lucky break? I thought I heard in the past Verizon MVNO's would unlock on the 61st day so you would need to have 3 months of service.

My experience is many Android phones don't auto unlock, and you still need to contact them to unlock it for you at the 60 day mark.
Not true at all. I'm currently typing this from my Total Wireless Samsung Galaxy A35 that's unlocked thru them. Auto unlocked at 60 days.

The 2025 was on sale a month after ordering the 2024 for the same $165 price. It was posted on here.

Yeah the question is whether over time the titanium reinforced hinge on the 2025 makes a difference. Keep in mind folding phones break far more often than slab phones.

In that case it is worth $130 in trade to your Amazon gift card balance

What's the cheapest/easiest way to get an external number to port in?
