This is a different phone from the April deal. That deal was for the 2025 version. This is the older 2024 version.

Verizon is trying to nuke the 60 day rule right now. Everyone should file an FCC comment reply by July 21 to push back: https://www.reddit.com/r/verizon/...you_to_do/ - This article says the window has expired, but if you post a comment as a "reply to other comments" (it is on the FCC comment form under comment type) they will still field it.

You can use any mobile number to receive the verification code when you place the order. It does not have to be the same number you will actually port-in when you have your new phone.

I had a seamless experience porting from Google Voice last Black Friday for this phone but sadly assumed it would be the same. Save time and skip this deal unless you have a real # to port in. Numberbarn is a no go for verification SMS and TW CS told me they no longer allow GV port-ins.

edit: If I had to try again would Tello. Just a warning as I saw someone else say something similar but ignored it.
GV worked fine for me for ordering. Phone should arrive tomorrow or Tuesday so we'll see if it works for the actual porting.

Just a heads up on TW and unlocking: I'm getting lots of delays by their unlocking department with them first telling me 4 days ago that my phone (Moto G Power 2024 and now on day 70 with service) will unlock in 1-2 hours. That was days ago. I just called them and the very first thing the rep asked is why do I want my phone unlocked. I deflected the question and he said unlocks can take from 1 to 7 days to unlock. I said look in the notes (he referred to them) and see that the previous rep said 1-2 hours. He said it's not in the notes. Verizon is really playing games now. If no resolution tomorrow, it's time to contact TF corp and follow with a FCC complaint. These reps must have been instructed to make it difficult because I've never seen this pushback.

I would not take what a front line CSP says seriously. I ported in a GV number on the 2025 Razr deal two weeks ago without any issues.

Probably not the best place to ask, but anyone know if I'm likely to see a line cost increase if I leave my wife's old plan while this unlocks then rejoin the plan on AT&T?

There are posts earlier in this thread that say this phone won't work for AT&T. At least, not for postpaid.

So this is a CDMA phone and will not work in a bunch of places outside of the USA that use GSM when it unlocks, correct?

Cdma vs gsm isn't a thing anymore. It has most all of the useful bands for 3/4/5g

CDMA is an old term. Most phones now are 4G or 5G and use LTE bands. The phones sold by TW/TF/ST typically have bands used in the US and overseas. I don't have this TW Moto Razr 2024, but I had two TW Moto Edge 2024 and two Samsung A35's. I sold them on Ebay and the buyers wanted to use them in Ukraine, Colombia, India, the Philippines. I used www.frequencycheck.com to check the Compatibility of my TW phones with the overseas carriers that the buyers wanted to use, they all were Compatible. The buyers reported later that they had no problems using those phones in their countries.

Thanks, I don't keep up with a lot of stuff. Travel a lot and have just bought GSM phones for years. Didn't know things have changed.
