FYI, Ordered this deal last week (@ $99). Called Home Depot and they happily price matched themselves and issued a refund for the difference.

Anyone know if this type of free item package deal is hackable?
Ex: could I keep the batteries and return the planer to make the battery price super slick?

It's not hackable since it all comes in 1 box.

OK this answers my question about returning the planer as well. Not individual separate pieces so no hacking.

No hackable. But solid deal
If you need batteries. I'm finally going to retire some older batteries with this now.

I would like the batteries but already have the planer. I feel like the planer is okay, probably better to just invest in a bigger one though

Thanks for the feedback.

I guess the way I'm looking at it is you can get the same batteries for around $55 with the hack on the other $99 get a free tool deal right now. So paying ~$25 for this planner seems reasonable for what it is.

You might be able to sell an unused planer on fbmp for $70, making your batteries roughly $15.

I contemplated this route. Probably be what I end up doing. Always an option to sell parts off, but it's just an extra step and I'm lazy 😂
