Does this require any monthly subscription?
No but the app is littered with ads. I'm done with Eufy because of this. Beware
I own several eufy security cameras and the Eufy app only advertises their own products AFAIK, esp when it goes on sale. you can always press the X to close it. Even then, the ads are minimal. I kinda welcome it so I know what product to get my hands on next.

Thanks for posting! Just received mine 2 days ago and got the front door one installed today. Works great, interested to see how it works when I connect it with Matter.

The keypad only one I got for my basement door seems to have disconnected from Eufy and has all of its settings through the Google Home app now. Some settings, like time to auto-lock, are stripped down compared their app, but if WiFi is disconnected then batteries should last much longer (which is why I got the matter compatible one)

As for this lock, I emailed Eufy to get a price match with the cart/coupon screen shot attached. Hopefully they price match to avoid unnecessary returns.

UPDATE: I received a confirmation from Eufy support that they will refund me the difference after sending them an email and a screenshot of the code in my checkout Smilie

Do you mean that the lock lost connection to the Eufy app after you connected to the matter controller? Very strange. Would have assumed it would stay connected to both. I have a Samsung Smartthings controller and an Eero 7 pro that has matter.

for what it's worth, I have the full security suite just about and use the app many times daily to check on cameras etc... I see exactly zero ads, sometimes there is a request to do a survey but it's a tiny blurb at the bottom of the app with a simple X to ignore it... not sure what that reviewer would be doing diff5

When I look in the Eufy app I can see the lock but it shows the status as "Offline" instead of "Locked" or "Unlocked". It also no longer gives me the option to edit settings on the lock. In the Google Home app, I can add new passcodes, users, etc. but things like the auto-lock time slider have been reduced down to 1,2,3 mins only. I wasn't sure if this is how they intended it to work or if it's a bug. I Mostly wanted it to just not run-Wi-Fi since that radio uses more battery than Matter/Thread, but it sucks to lose some features.

My lock arrived and I installed it yesterday. It works really well. Connected to my Samsung Smartthings matter controller via the Eero thread. Was able to get the routines working. Lock now automatically unlocks if our phones lose wifi connections for more than a minute and come back into wifi range. Have also set it to auto unlock if the battery falls lower than 5% though I dont think I need that due to the dual battery design. I had an older Level Matter lock that kept disconnecting from the Matter Hub. This one has been rock solid so far. And connecting was a breeze - unlike the Level Lock. Almost feels like the lock was geared to connect unlike the level where I had to force a connection.

I have the lock on our front and back doors and it's been stellar, I'm so glad to be rid of our PoS August lock that just got worse over time and always required taking our phones out (by the time it connected, I could have just used a key). I haven't done the Matter integration yet, but it sounds very feature packed. With how quick the palm reading is I don't know if I'll even bother setting up any automations, but it's good to know how many options there are!

I was even able to get money back by emailing support about a coupon code that took the price for two down by $72.78, making the cost per lock $203.28 after tax!

I had the Eufy lock with the fingerprint reader before the Level Lock but my wife could never register a fingerprint (does not work at the gym or any biometric reader. They always have to have her moisturize her palm to get any reading). Was hoping that this device could capture her palm print, but it didn't work (my print and my daughter's print registered immediately). The auto unlock is the saving grace for her 😊
