Given how human beings just keep getting bigger and bigger, it surprises me how few of these scooters are designed to support even the average American weight. Or it'll have a max weight right around the size of the average person meaning the advertised speed and range won't apply to 75% of the adult population.

the 12% slope grade on this kills it for me. My old scooter was 12% and could barely get up any hills in my neighborhood and I don't weight much. Great price though. We have 2 other Segways and love them. Their App is great too.

I'm tempted to get this as a way to get to local grocery shops etc, but then I think maybe walking is a healthier and better option?
Biking (with a rear rack, maybe a front basket) is generally going to be a better way to get groceries, with a scooter like this you can only carry what you can fit in a backpack, and even then you're carrying it on your body, which isn't ideal.

These scooters are great for short urban commutes where you can carry it into your workplace with you, that's the best use case IMO. Don't have to worry about bike theft locking up outdoors all day.

What about all the(future) time spent on doctors visits because not walking?

Drive 30-50mph in car fit all groceries in car for 1-2 weeks look at the amount of time saved....for recreation Smilie

Funning thing, no one mentions helmets for the kids...great parenting.
What a weird f'ing answer. Now get off your couch, try to culture yourself, and see the world. Countries like Italy and Greece rely on scooter, like this one, transportation. Other countries, like Denmark, choose to bicycle. Guess what? Majority do not wear helmets.

You can use the excuse that you're an American living in urban sprawl.

Mine was supposed to be delivered yesterday, it's been stuck at 'delayed, not yet shipped' with no estimate since then.

That's unfortunate. Do you mean underpowered or straight up faulty?

Probably just way under powered. It Might have be faulty. It was just the worst scooter I have bought either way. After having a 800 watt Bird scooter I guess I can't go back to these low powered scooters.
