I went into the Eufy ecosystem a long time ago before the unencrypted streaming thing and what initially sold me on Eufy was the no subscription thing. During the issue a couple of years back, I started to look really into security cameras and crime. Wifi cameras has its place and will work great for 80% of the buyers. 15% will have issues with signal because these things do not reach more than 200 ft (Homebase 3 in the house and a s3 hung on a pole... ask me how I know... lol) and demand outside of it's scope and there are a few Eufy cameras with durability issues. The last 5% of homeowners are the crazy and are willing to dump a good amount of time and money into POE system (or a hybridish system). I'm guilty of this now and went with Reolink cameras and their NVR system. the issue with wifi cameras is how easily it is to build a wifi jammer and all these wireless cameras are just that, another wifi device that can be jammed and you'd never get any notifications of it going offline and your home robbed or anything else. by the time you realize it and go back to your footage and see nothing is when you'd be pissed your dropped serious coin for a system defeated so quickly and easily.I have 5 S3, 6 2c Pro, 3 2c 365, 1 floodlight cam and 3 Homebase 3 (only using 2 for now) across 2 properties. Mind you these older 2c was bought when they first came out because it was supposed to last 365 days (another.... annoyance of these marketing "details"). I'm going to sell it all on eBay when I get all my Reolink up. Why Reolink? For starters, I can manually turn the NVR port on my switch to turn on or off so when I'm home, it's completely off grid. no signals back to China. I'm looking the details of this to do a permanent block, 24/7. And this is not unique to Reolink, don't trust the hype when they say it doesn't send data back to China... they all do because the have to. but back to Reolink... they have a pretty good NVR system for off the shelf and the cameras are pretty good. customer support has been great in getting things done, albeit slower than replacing-it-by-tomorrow standards. I started with their wifi system because at the time, I couldn't run cables on my property, wasn't ready. I got their Home Hub Pro and it was ok. Range was TERRIBLE.... I got their wifi Trackmix, Altas PT, Lumux and E1 Pro indoors. their colorx feature blows anything out of the water when it comes to night clarity. Now I'm at the phase where I can run cables, POE all the way. Home Hub Pro NVR was a nice way of dipping into the Reolink ecosystem without much investment. going to sell that too now I'm going POE. POE is definitely the way to go and with Reolink, no subscription either. this goes for their wifi cameras too; they have a local SD card slot. response of the cameras is so much better than wifi ones (of course) and I don't have to worry about wifi jammers. 16 channel is more than I need but leaves room for expansion if I ever need it (drilling 16 holes to the house would make 1 very pissed off wife). if you're going with Reolink POE system, the Trackmix brings a lot to the table for the cost and effectiveness. The Duo series is definitely a game changer and I've got 3 of them instead of using 6 fixed cameras. I'm still building out some parts but I'm looking to get the cx820 with colorx... it's just so amazing how night time looks with it (I'm out in the country so there's little to no ambient light around me; if you're in the urban area, this might not apply to you as much).this has been a lot but true security, no wifi. each has pros and cons. you're just have to decide which fits your level of comfort best.

They do have just the camera, it was $119.99 as of yesterday but it is no longer on sale unfortunately.

I feel like any perpetually outdoor motorized item will very quickly stop being able to move.
Has anyone had this for a decent amount of time?

my car has been 100% outdoors for 10 years, is motorized, and is very much able to move.

I can be called a shill or not, I'm not interested in things like that.

I initially purchased the camera for $116 and the doorbell with extra battery for $130 for prime day.

Since I'm just getting my system set up and don't NEED an extra battery for the doorbell this was pretty much buy the camera get the door bell free.

If someone bought just the doorbell for $89 or whatever it was, then the prime day deals are roughly the same price. I'd rather spend money at Costco if possible though.

I've had mine for years, and I've been relatively happy with the cameras. I have 3 different cameras and a door lock.

Would caution anyone wanting to buy this - if you are thinking of having this camera cover a 270° area of say, your lawn, you are going to be disappointed. it does not cover the whole area by itself. It stays focused in one cone in front of its default position when inactive, and only tilts/pans when it detects something. In other words, it will not automatically sweep the area outside its cone. Does not do that even with HB3. If you have a use case like that (like me wanting to cover 270° field of my 10k sqft backyard) it's better you buy one of their other models which have sentry mode, or whatever it's called.
With this cam, you'll have to purchase extra proximity sensors and set up automation using HB3 functions. Adds some cost and complexity, fair warning. It's decent at other stuff tho.

Purchased separately, it costs $100 more. I've had the eufy ecosystem for over 2 years and it's saved me from the ridiculous subscription fees other security systems charge. Get eufy homebase because the internal storage is very limited.
