Boost offers "blue truck" delivery as their premier and cheapest option. You CANNOT tip "blue truck" Kroger delivery drivers. These are proper Kroger employees -- not gig workers. If you only have instacart in your area (or you choose to use it for timing reasons), then you are subject to instacart rules, somewhat sketchier delivery (because it is an instacart employee, not a Kroger employee, who is picking), and you might be able to tip. FWIW, I LOVE Boost. Blue truck delivery has been nearly flawless for our deliveries, and we've had literally hundreds of them (really!). Join now and you should qualify for the mid-July Boost Bonus days (like prime days) where some silly cheap deals will happen. At half off, this is a no-brainer if you normally shop at Kroger.

To clarify for people:

Boost Essential is $69 / year ($34.50 with promo) and includes free next-day delivery from Kroger trucks and Kroger employees. Tipping is not allowed. Includes 6 months streaming.

Boost is $99 / year ($49.50 with promo) and includes free same-day delivery through Instacart drivers. Tipping is encouraged. Includes streaming for the full year.

You may only have the option of one of the two plans depending on your location.

You can extend your membership when they have these 50% off promos. Mine currently goes through 2028 because I added multiple years at the $34 price.

The Essential plan is great. No tipping, can schedule delivery early mornings, easy refunds if anything is wrong.

Stop doing that. You're just making tip culture worse.

If you get Boost, can you still choose next day Blue truck delivery? My local Kroger is just a mile away so a quick trip to the store is never an issue, but having non-perishable goods delivered is not a terrible idea.

If you've got a Kroger Mastercard (which is also good because it gives you 5% cashback anywhere you use tap to pay from your phone up to $3000 each year), then Boost Essential is included for free... they word it weirdly and it sounds like it is just for the "first year" but they automatically renew it for free as long as you've got the card: https://www.kroger.com/pr/credit-boost-promo
Nice. That's the real deal.
It's a solid card and now good benefits.

Where it says 5% back when using mobile wallet is it talking about apple pay or you have to sue some kroger wallet? would I be able to get 5% back places other than kroger or only kroger, for instance? I was tempted to get a new credit card that was offering a $300 credit, but maybe the $100 kroger one would be worth doing.
Both. 5% with Kroger pay and 5% with Google pay. $3000 yearly limit each

No. If they're spending 20 minutes picking up groceries for me and there's no fee for store pickup, I'm going to at least tip them $2. They're not required to take it, but they saved me 20+ minutes of my time. I do agree though that tipping in the US is waaayyy out of control.
Give me your slickdeals account. By preventing you from making any more comments, I am saving you 20+ minutes of your time. Oh yeah, pay me for it too.

You are already paying for the delivery service, which is intended to save you time. Do you tip your USPS driver for the mail every day as well? Have some backbone and draw the line. The attitude that one should pay more for a service that one is already paying for is so subservient and pitiful.

Thanks - was thinking about doing this just for the espn+ membership for my dad since I cancelled our youtube tv (sooooo much money). Now I'm stuck with $500 in google play credit (was 20% off) on my account so will have to re-enable it at some point - maybe when football starts this fall again.
ESPN+ does not have everything that is on the ESPN cable channel. Or at least a few years ago that was the way it was.

This was very disappointing for me to learn as I thought I could get ESPN streaming without paying the channel aggregator overlords.

Edit: and I got ESPN+ so I could stream the football games they had on the cable channel. Nope, nada.

What? Even on orders over $35?

What metro area is this?

Add the offer then sign up/pay with that card. (Info added to the wiki)

Thanks for calling that out. Besides the same day free delivery, I was only going to get it for those few football games that are aired on there. I just looked it up and they now have a service just called ESPN that's $300 a year (or $35 monthly).

The verge speculated espn was going to give something like that a go.

But at that obscene price, I'll go without that subscription.

Here in TN everyone keeps whining abo9ut kroger and saying publix would be much better. lol.
publix is very high quality and the staff is very friendly because they are paid well and its treated as a career for them. That being said, the only way to shop at publix is via bogo.

Kroger has 100% replaced my sshoppingat publix though. Even tho the publix is less than a mile away from me Kroger is simply that much cheaper, even with the membership fee.

Kroger delivery produce is fresher than any produce ive ever seen in a store btw. I assume its because it comes from the same place the stores get it from.
