I ordered these on 7/11, open box, with slow shipping, for $25.17, so $2.517 apiece. I had previously bought an open box 16-pack in December 2023 for $2.792 per cell.

S&S at $2.389 apiece is a pretty good deal - I don't (yet) know what's special about the 10-pack size.

Amazon co-mingles all stock from different suppliers claiming to be the same product together in the warehouse. So, it is entirely possible that even ordering a product straight from a brand's "store" page on Amazon could result in you being shipped a counterfeit product. This seems to me most prevalent with things like SD cards but certainly could apply to other products as well

Actually, they only pre-charge them to 70% (I think 50% for the Pros), so it's more like saving the world 1.77WH at a time. Also, since Eneloops (and their rebrands) aren't shipped with a full charge, they almost always reach the end-user with a lower charger than batteries made elsewhere. I don't know if this is done to preserve the cells or due to some Japanese regulation.

Eneloops, especially the newer variants, handle storage at higher voltages much better than other batteries, but they still charge them to 70% so that the battery is still in perfect condition when you buy it, even if it sat on the shelf for 5-10 years.
