Is this smaller form factor mostly used in portable gaming devices like the steam deck?

Small pc, steam deck, Asus rig ally. Any small computer device. Can put in laptops. How much was this used on prime day?

Yes, 2230 fits Steam Deck. It's a relatively easy install (I've done both a LCD & OLED Decks), just be sure to remove your SD card first!

Thanks! the 1tb was 60. But the 2tb is better because games are so big, 1tb runs out fast.

I got the Corsair MP600 Mini card with faster Read/Write speed back in February for $140 and ordered the CFExpress adapter (I think it was $22 off ebay) to use with the Nikon cameras. It's much cheaper and I have a few extra spare cards around. I haven't noticed any issues with these cards for my personal use, and I even bought a 2230 usb-c adapter to connect to my computer for external memory.

Not on sale at the moment but for reference: Corsair MP600 Mini [amazon.com]
Compact M.2 2230 Form-Factor: Fully compatible with Valve Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally, MSI Claw, and Microsoft Surface, and other ultra-thin devices, making a great upgrade for compatible machines
Your PC Made Faster: Load games, boot Windows, open and transfer files, all faster than ever
Extreme Gen4 Storage Performance: A PCIe Gen4 x4 controller delivers up to 7,000MB/sec sequential read and up to 6,200MB/sec sequential write speeds, for rapid read, write, and response times
High-Speed PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe 1.4 M.2 Interface: Using PCIe Gen4 technology for maximum bandwidth, the MP600 MINI delivers great storage performance.
High-Density 3D TLC NAND: Provides the ideal mix of performance and endurance to keep your drive performing at its best for years

It doesn't make sense to purchase at this price.

If you're going to run this on something running Windows 11 24H2 (Read: ASUS ROG Ally or some other handheld), make sure you get the firmware update.

Thanks! Really I was more curious than anything. I actually got one of these, different brand and only 128gb for free. But didn't have a steam deck or similar gaming system to try it out in. I did get a cheap orico USB drive to put it in, but that failed too. And I don't think my PC has anymore m2 slots... Kind of a tiny drive anyway.

Yeah, at 128GB, that's pretty tiny these days. Personally, I wouldn't bother swapping one in at that size. Worth noting though that some laptops offer a way of adding a second NVMe drive through the WWAN port (assuming you are not using it). I have two NVMes in my ThinkBook that way.

Honest question, why get this one instead of the faster Crucial P310 at the same price? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D61SDZD2

QLC vs TLC nand, which should mean longer endurance and better sustained performance in WD Black. The quoted speed is probably the controller, but I'm not an expert.

Is this single sided chips? Or chips on both sides? Need for T490s that requires single sided.
