Whoever at HP gave this laptop the green light should have someone walking behind him while ringing a bell and yelling out "Shame! Shame! Shame!"

It's a sign of the times we're living in. That 3050 is pretty dated too

I think those are the unsold units from 2023, they manufactured too many of those

6 GB VRAM? Quad-core CPU? Good luck running anything modern at anywhere near 144 fps lol even at 1080p

Not everyone can afford a $1000+ gaming laptop . For under $500, this is a great deal

Should run League of Legends pretty well, on everything set to very low with the 75watt version of the 3050 it gets well over 300FPS, so if you put it on high it should probably get around 60-100 FPS. Not sure which wattage version is in this one, so would need to double check that its at least the 75 watt one.

As for saving money on the open box vs new, if you are trying to save as much money as possible than your decision is made for you. Overall the only downside to buying open box is that manufactures are pushing back on best buy and not honoring the full 1 year warranty best buy promises, specifically Asus currently. When buying an open box test and stress test the unit for a full day and if it runs fine, you know it should be good long term.

thanks for posting this OP

Apparently it has a second m2 slot drive and one empty ram slot which is convenient you can just order a second 8 GB stick of ram..

https://www.reddit.com/r/HPVictus...nd_buying/

... you could snag a m2 drive too to go with it

https://slickdeals.net/deals/ssd/

not sure if it's 1 TB or higher far as the maximum drive size? Maybe someone who knows more than me can help out here?

Who expects to play anything modern at even 100 fps on a sub 500 dollar laptop?

Even though the video card is older it's still better than the newer integrated cards like the Intel Arc right?

Looking at the ACEMAGIC AM08 Pro AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS / 32GB DDR5 / 1TB SSD Mini PC for $424 vs this deal. Will this laptop be better? Both would be connected to a monitor.
