There is a deal on the Intel variant of this, includes free upgrade to aluminum casing which also upgrades the USB C to have power delivery instead of data only. $450 after $300 off, same price after 10% sign up coupon.

250 nits brightness, not bad if you live in a cave... A bit hyperbolic? Yes, I'm just fed up with how most budget laptops don't get brighter, I'd gladly pay extra for the feature.

It's DC15255. So, I reckon this is the 5xxx series.

Does anyone know if you can stack the 10% and a student discount?

Edit: it does not stack. One or the other code. Still 430$ after tax for the link in the comments section (the one with 1tb, backlit, aluminum, etc). It's for our daughter going off to school and it satisfies the school requirements and doubles some of the specs.
Check your school website for specs.
So good enough we hope. Thanks!

I bought my son a MacBook Air for college. He later told me he was glad he had a Mac because it kept him from getting sucked into wasting hours and hours gaming.
It's tough to be a college student when the device you do all your reading and studying with is constantly pinging you on social media and tempting you to play games. So a non-gaming laptop really is better.
IMO, a MacBook Air with 16 GB is an excellent college laptop, because they're very durable and light.

Too much for 250 nits. That's a screen for a blind person.
