FYI, this is on sale at Costco as well.
2x 48oz [costco.com] for $7.69 in-warehouse (your specific location may vary so check the app).
That's 8 cents an ounce at Costco compared to 9.4 cents an ounce from Amazon.

Cry all you want. Why is the European version healthier? Here is the link of the same product sold in a country where healthy eating is still valued and supported through policies.

Edit: I ordered this as it's healthier and cheaper than the JIF I buy from my HEB, and I don't use it daily, so win- win for me.

Cost vs Health Breakdown: Skippy Extra Crunchy 2-Pack (40oz each) for $7.55

This works out to $0.094 per ounce, which is an excellent price for peanut butter. But how does it stack up health-wise compared to more natural options?

Skippy Extra Crunchy (Your Deal)

$7.55 for 80 oz ($0.094/oz)

Ingredients: peanuts, sugar, palm oil, salt, fully hydrogenated oils

Health impact: includes added sugar and hydrogenated oils (linked to heart disease and inflammation)

Natural Peanut Butter Alternatives (e.g., Smucker's Natural, store brands)

~$7.50 for 40 oz ($0.188/oz)

Ingredients: peanuts (sometimes salt)

Health impact: no added sugar or oils, better fats, cleaner protein

If you eat ~2 tablespoons per day (~2.7 oz):

Skippy = 30 days of added sugar and low-quality oils

Natural PB = about $0.23 more per day for cleaner, heart-healthier food

Summary:

On a tight budget or eating PB occasionally? This Skippy deal is worth grabbing.

Eating it daily or feeding it to kids? Spending ~$7 more per month on natural peanut butter is a smart investment in health.

80/20 mindset? You could buy this now and switch to a better option once it runs out.

Insufferable and half the time when you research it, the comment is a bunch of pseudo-science.

You're whining about someone posting possible health concerns for the community? You do you, and live and let.

I absolutely love peanut butter, especially super chunk, however, I'm not thrilled about the hydrogenated vegetable oil usage in this product. Hydrogenated vegetable oils often contain trans fats, which raise bad cholesterol, lower good cholesterol, and increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. They also promote inflammation, weight gain, and may impair brain function. Despite bans on partially hydrogenated oils, small amounts can still appear in processed foods, so it's best to avoid them altogether.
