Google Voice is simply a free service where you have your own phone number that you give to everyone. It can run from a phone, tablet and/or computer. You can call and text from that number using only data, and nobody has any idea that it's not your actual phone. The "base number" is your cell phone's actual number that you wouldn't need to use at all, so it wouldn't matter if it changed.

I've done this for years because my employer provides me a cell phone but I wanted to keep my personal number separate. So I ported it to GV and have the best of both worlds using the same phone. If I leave this company, my GV number is unaffected. It also works great when in a foreign country because you only need a WiFi connection to use your GV service as if you were at home.

I will have to check that. I dont think I exceeded 30GB over Hotspot. Honestly I did not track it. I am very happy with my Mint connection, just that the free spectrum connection showed much much better coverage across the US. And I am talking about the areas closer to national parks in mid west or in west.

Is there currently a better deal than the TW 5G+ unlimited plan for $30 a month which includes Disney+ that's worth over $15 a month if you subscribe to it. Blazing speeds that never slow down and unlimited hotspot. Just port in to Metro's $25 plan and then back out to TW a few days later. Thoughts?

For the 2nd year, after my 1st year was about to be over, I ported out my number from Spectrum to US Mobile for a free 30 days trial. After porting out completely from Spectrum, I saw Spectrum offered a free 1 year again in my account; so I ported back in to Spectrum from US Mobile for that free 2nd year mobile service.
